Intro

Yes, the title of this article is redundant. But really, like so many prophecies and prophets of old, they were veiled or hidden in their own time, that is, no one knew what they meant. That was God's intention, to put it in a secret code, so that none of God's enemies would understand it so as to fear it and persecute/ ban/ or destroy it. Those near the time of their fulfillment would get the sense and meaning of the prophecies so as to be warned and also encouraged and reassured.

I also suspect that due to the gloominess of the message, God also veiled it enough that not even His own people might discern it till a time just prior to its fulfillment. Had God's people understood this for many generations, then they might have had a difficult time living with the uncertainty of whether they would have to endure this seemingly terrible fate in their lifetime or not. So why bother or worry His people when it would not be necessary, right? Those near the end would be the only ones who really needed to know, understand, and get prepared. I believe we are at that time.

Of course, in many ways at many times, our end could come at any time due to persecution, war, crime, accident, sickness, plague, or even just complacency. So there was always an urgency given to all Christians all the time. But especially is this so for those who would be living at the time when Revelation was to be fulfilled. I believe we are among the generation who lives in that time.

We have arrived at the time when it is becoming very obvious to a number of separate unrelated groups of Christians of many persuasions, what is really taking place and about to take place. And if you will forgive my utter lack of modesty, I believe I have really nailed this one like no one before me. So I ask you to examine my work and see if I am right or not about that. Is Revelation finally revealed to us?!

I propose that the primary objective of this "revelation" is to let us know about the coming slaughter of some Christians, not likely to be a small number by any means, but yet, not the majority, either. There is a great test, a time when all those in the earth will have to make a choice one way or the other, a time when the sheep will be separated from the goats and the wheat from the weeds. So this book and its prophecies are here to let us know what must soon take place. In addition, God's son fills in the complete picture of His unfolding purpose in this book as well.

Many of us will be called upon to be brave and remain loyal to Christ, even to death. If we conquer, we will be richly rewarded, to be sure. But I realize this is not going to be a popular message that will be well received as I try to spread it around. Remember that Jesus' apostles did not want to listen to him when he told them (outspokenly so, the Bible tells us) that he must suffer and die. They did not listen and were caught by surprise. I have absolutely no doubt that Jesus and his Father chose a circumstance like this to give us further warning so we would not be as foolish as the apostles had been the 1st time.

The apostles got a 2nd chance but we will get no 2nd chance in this final great coming test. We must absolutely get it right or die, never to live again. We can not afford to fail. Since we have the example of the failures of those before us, we have a better chance not to blow it ourselves. Let us not allow their example to be in vain in our behalves. Notice this very important scripture:

Amos 3:
7 For the Lord Jehovah will do nothing unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.
8 A lion has roared. Who will not fear? The Lord Jehovah has spoken, who will not prophesy?

God refuses to do anything without revealing it to His prophets, who in turn deliver their message or revelations to God's people. God loves us too much to let us get caught by surprise. He wants us to be sure to know and understand what is required of us to be saved. So it was His will and pleasure as delivered by His son to let us know what must shortly take place at some time, a time near to us, no doubt.

The events of the earth are reaching a serious state where things can no longer be done without the notice of observant people who are awake and awaiting the return of God's son. What the nations plot is not easily hid anymore. Now is the point where it shall become clear what is about to happen. The things Jesus told us to watch for are now coming into fulfillment. So let us look again into Revelation to see what we can find.

Notice that this book is a Revelation of Jesus Christ, given to him by God, his Father, of course. And this revelation will "show to His slaves things which must occur quickly." Jesus has John, the Apostle John that is, write to the 7 churches in Asia. There were more than 7 in Asia and many more throughout the Roman empire. So why did Jesus pick these 7 in Asia? Many of these churches never even had a letter sent to them that ended up in the Bible. Paul had once covered this territory. Peter covered some of it according to his first letter:

1 Peter 1:1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the elect sojourners of the dispersion of Pontus, of Galatia, of Cappadocia, of Asia, and of Bithynia,

2nd century Christian writers tell us about the various assignments given to each apostle. But not many lived far beyond the time when Paul and Peter were martyred and they were by no means the first to be killed for their testimony of Jesus or the last. But the reason for these churches becomes clear when we see these same words repeated 7 times, once after each church has their counsel given to them.

"The one who has an ear, hear what the Spirit says to the churches."

Put another way, "hint, hint! nod, nod! wink, wink! Look beyond what I'm writing here, OK?? I am speaking in code so not everyone will understand. Pay careful attention."
We have an ear, don't we? So lets listen to what the Spirit really says to the "churches," that is, to us at the end of these days that were foretold.

Now the 1st 3 chapters of Revelation, in many ways, might be the most important. A technique is employed here, which I called "the keys" to interpretation of prophecy. We are introduced to all sorts of symbols, names, descriptions, and the like. Jesus, in particular, is described in numerous ways and a number of names as well. Then in later chapters, we are only given perhaps one or two of those names, along with a description or two. While this might confuse a few, I think it is done as a pattern that we can then apply to enemies as well as Jesus or God's people.

It is far more important to hide when we are talking about enemies rather than allies. Enemies could take offense and wipe out the Bible. So by cloaking and clouding everything, many just figure it is a bunch of gibberish and nonsense. That is exactly what God wanted. He's no fool, right? But those who ignore Him are. So pay careful attention to the prophetic keys as we will need these to open other doors and translate other visions, not only in Revelation, but Daniel and others, too.

[{From here on in, my comments will be in red between brackets [{}] where as the text of Revelation will remain in black.}]

Revelation

Chapter 1  -  John Receives a Vision

[{ Jesus gets called by many things and by many descriptions through these 1st 3 chapters. Faithful witness, first-born of the dead, ruler of the kings of the earth, otherwise known as king of kings, a name which will come up, too, later. Many of these names have been used in other parts of the Bible, both Old and New Testaments. Knowing these various names will help us better identify him in other places where his is not identified by his most typical name. So pay attention to those names.

But there is a greater reason why this is done in the Bible and especially in Revelation. There are numerous ways and means of naming and describing other parties as well. Nations and other enemies of God are revealed in the Bible. But not by anything specific. But this is for a very deliberate and important reason. Had any of those guilty parties discerned that God's words applied to them and gave them away, they would have long ago banned the Bible and destroyed God's people. So different names and symbols identifying them or even just descriptions of what they do are given. We have to match them up so as to get a complete picture and know who to look out for and why.

There are guilty parties and their deeds revealed to us in Revelation. But so concealed in symbols, various names, and deeds are they that even Christians have been very unsuccessful in understanding and interpreting who they might be. But Christians have been largely unaware of God deliberately writing in code that is hard to translate.

Yes, God intended that it should even be hard for us and would require great effort and strain on our part to come to an understanding of His message for us. That way no one but us will get the message. God's and our enemies will just laugh at it and think it a bunch of non-sense which is just what God had intended. So be prepared to give the effort required to make sense of this hidden code so you can be forewarned of what is about to happen. }]

1 A Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave to Him to show to His slaves things which must occur quickly. And He signified by sending through His angel to His slave, John,
2 who testified of the Word of God and the witness of Jesus Christ, even as many things as he saw.
3 Blessed is the one reading, and those hearing the words of this prophecy, and keeping the things having been written; for the time is near.

[{ Many have read this in past centuries thinking perhaps the time was near. But there is only one time when it could be near. And that time has to arrive sooner or later. But if we look carefully, we will see those signs Jesus told us to watch for. }]

4 John to the seven churches in Asia: Grace to you, and peace, from the One who is, and who was, and who is coming, and from the seven spirits which are before His throne;
5 even from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the First-born out of the dead, and the Ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him loving us and washing us from our sins by His blood,
6 and made us kings and priests to God, even His Father. To Him is the glory and the might forever and ever. Amen.

7 "Behold, He comes with the clouds," and "every eye will see Him, and the ones who pierced" Him, and all the tribes of the earth "will wail on account of Him." Yes, Amen. [Dan. 7:13; Zech. 12:10]
8 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the Ending, says the Lord, the One who is, and who was, and who is coming, the Almighty.

[{ Jesus comes with the clouds, that is, hidden in the clouds, yet all eyes "see" him, that is, they recognize that he is behind and is responsible for, what is happening around them. Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega, the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. Yes, Jesus knows Greek as well as every other language on earth. }]

9 I, even your brother John, and co-sharer in the affliction, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, came to be in the island being called Patmos because of the Word of God, and because of the witness of Jesus Christ.
10 I came to be in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and I heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,
11 saying, I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last; also, What you see, write in a scroll, and send to the seven churches of Asia: to Ephesus, and to Smyrna, and to Pergamos, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.

[{ I assume that the churches chosen were chosen because the counsel given to them is or would be most relevant to us who would be living at the time of fulfillment of these prophecies Jesus was giving to John. The things said to each church would definitely apply to us in these end times, for sure.

What Jesus is going to largely reveal is that a number of his people are going to have to die in this time as martyrs. So great promises are made to them to brace them and encourage them to be able to go through what they have to, shortly. There is a great crowd who will make it past the tribulation and into paradise but this book is not primarily for them as I see it. It is for those who must die at the hands of enemies or die of disease or old age before the end comes.

Jesus gets described in many ways as we shall see here. He is the son of man, yet his hair is as white as wool or snow, his eyes like a flame of fire, his feet like shining brass, etc. We will encounter these phrases again and so will know how to interpret and understand them.

Pay close attention to his 2-edged sword sticking out of his mouth. A rider will be described in this way. It will be Jesus. Jesus calls himself the first and the last, and holding the keys to Hades. These will be important, too. }]

12 And I turned to see the voice which spoke with me.
13 And having turned, I saw seven golden lampstands, and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of man, having been clothed to the feet, and having been girded with a golden girdle at the breasts.

[{ The seven lampstands will be interpreted in verse 20 coming right up. }]

14 And the hairs of His head were white as white wool, as snow, and His eyes as a flame of fire;
15 and His feet like burnished brass having been fired in a furnace; and His voice as a sound of many waters;
16 and having in His right hand seven stars; and a sharp, two-edged sword proceeding out of His mouth, and His face shining as the sun in its power.

17 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet, as dead. And He put His right hand on me, saying to me, Do not fear. I am the First and the Last,
18 and the Living One; and I became dead; and, behold, I am living forever and ever. Amen. And I have the keys to Hades, and of death.
19 Write what things you saw, and what things are, and what things are about to occur after these things.
20 The mystery of the seven stars which you saw on My right, and the seven golden lampstands: the seven stars are angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands you saw are seven churches.

[{ Verse 20 interprets the symbols first mentioned in verse 13 so we don't have to wonder about what they mean. }]

Chapter 2  -  1st 4 of 7 Churches Addressed
Back to Top

1 To the angel of the Ephesian church, write: These things says the One holding the seven stars in His right hand, He walking in the midst of the seven golden lampstands:
2 I know your works, and your labor, and your patience, and that you cannot bear evil ones; and you tried those pretending to be apostles and are not, and found them to be liars.
3 And I know you bore up and have patience and on account of My name you have labored and have not wearied,
4 But I have against you that you left your first love.
5 Then remember from where you have fallen, and repent, and do the first works. And if not, I am coming to you quickly, and will remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent.
6 But you have this, that you hate the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
7 The one who has an ear, hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one overcoming, I will give to him to eat of the Tree of Life which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.

[{ The words given to the church of Ephesus could apply to any of us today. Jesus ends his message to the Ephesians by promising that the one overcoming, he/she will eat from the tree of life, a way of saying they will live forever. }]

8 And to the angel of the church of Smyrna, write: These things says the First and the Last, who became dead, and lived:
9 I know your works, and the affliction, and the poverty; but you are rich. And I know the evil speaking of those saying themselves to be Jews, and they are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.
10 Do not at all fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the Devil is about to throw you into prison, so that you may be tried; and you will have affliction ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
11 The one who has an ear, hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one overcoming will not at all be hurt by the second death.

[{ The message to Smyrna is another situation that could apply to a number of people in our time.
"Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life."
"The one overcoming will not at all be hurt by the second death."
We will understand what the 2nd death is later in this book. Given these words of consolation, we should not fear if we should have to die for God. Our reward will be waiting. }]

12 And to the angel of the church in Pergamos, write: These things says the One having the sharp, two-edged sword:
13 I know your works, and where you dwell, where the throne of Satan is. And you hold My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful witness; who was killed alongside you, where Satan dwells.
14 But I have a few things against you, that you have there those holding the teachings of Balaam, who taught Balak to throw a stumbling-block before the sons of Israel, to eat idol sacrifices, and to commit fornication.
15 So you also have those holding the teaching of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.
16 Repent! But if not, I will come to you quickly, and I will make war with them by the sword of My mouth.
17 The one who has an ear, hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one overcoming, I will give him to eat from the hidden manna. And I will give to him a white stone, and on the stone a new name having been written, which no one knows except the one receiving it.

[{ We will encounter this description in 17 later on in Revelation as well. Fornication was a problem for some who followed a wayward sect known as the Nicolatians, who practiced what you might call free love or wife swapping within the church. But such things are not permissible. Yet some today believe it is. But such ones will not be saved.
Jesus warns:
"Repent! But if not, I will come to you quickly, and I will make war with them by the sword of My mouth."
By the way, Nicolatians were started by Nicolas who 2nd century writers inform us was one of the 7, along with Steven and Phillip, appointed to distribute to the widows in Acts. Nicolas obviously went bad. }]

18 And to the angel of the church in Thyatira, write: These things says the Son of God, the One having His eyes as a flame of fire, and His feet like burnished brass:
19 I know your works, and the love, and the ministry, and the faith, and your patience, and your works; and the last more than the first.
20 But I have a few things against you, that you allow the woman Jezebel to teach, she saying herself to be a prophetess, and to cause My slaves to go astray, and to commit fornication, and to eat idol sacrifices.
21 And I gave time to her that she might repent of her fornication. And she did not repent.
22 Behold, I am throwing her into a bed, and into great affliction those committing adultery with her, unless they repent of their works.
23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches will know that I am the One searching the inner parts and hearts. And I will give to each of you according to your works.
24 But I say to you and to the rest in Thyatira, as many as do not have this teaching, and who did not know the deep things of Satan, as they say: I am not casting another burden on you;
25 but what you have, hold until I shall come.
26 And the one overcoming, and the one keeping My works until the end, "I will give to him authority over the nations,"
27 and "he will shepherd them with an iron staff" (they are "broken to pieces like clay vessels"), as I also have received from My Father. Psa. 2:8, 9
28 And I will give to him the morning star.
29 The one who has an ear, hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

[{ 26-28 will be heard again later, as well. }]

Chapter 3  -  Last 3 of 7 Churches Addressed
Back to Top

1 And to the angel of the church in Sardis, write: These things says the One having the seven spirits of God, and the seven stars: I know your works, that you have the name that you live, and are dead.
2 Be watching, and establish the things left, which are about to die. For I have not found your works being fulfilled before God.
3 Then remember how you received and heard, and keep, and repent. If, then, you do not watch, I will come upon you like a thief and you will not at all know what hour I come upon you.
4 You also have a few names in Sardis which did not defile their robes, and they shall walk with Me in white because they are worthy.
5 The one overcoming, this one shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not at all blot his name out of the Book of Life; and I will acknowledge his name before My Father, and before His angels.
6 The one who has an ear, hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

[{ Verse 5 applies more especially to those near the time of the fulfillment of this book, the last days. }]

7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia, write: These things says the Holy One, the True One, the One having "the key of David," "the One opening, and no one shuts; and shuts, and no one opens:" [Isa. 22:22]
8 I know your works. Behold, I have given a door being opened before you, and no one is able to shut it, for you have a little power and have kept My word, and have not denied My name.
9 Behold, I give out of the synagogue of Satan those saying themselves to be Jews, and they are not, but they lie. Behold, I will make them come and bow down before your feet, and they shall know that I loved you.
10 Because you kept the word of My patience, I also will keep you out of the hour of trial which is going to come on all the habitable world in order to try those dwelling on the earth.
11 Behold, I am coming quickly. Hold what you have that no one take your crown.
12 The one overcoming, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall not go out any more. And I will write the name of My God on him, and the name of the city of My God, the new Jerusalem which comes down out of Heaven from My God, and My new name.
13 The one who has an ear, hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

[{ 11 & 12 are more relevant to those near the end than in 96 AD }]

14 And to the angel of the church of Laodicea, write: These things says the Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the Head of the creation of God:
15 I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I would that you were cold, or hot.
16 So, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I am about to vomit you out of My mouth.
17 Because you say, I am rich, and I am made rich, and I have need of nothing, and do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked.
18 I advise you to buy from Me gold having been fired by fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, and your shame and nakedness may not be revealed. And anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.
19 I, as many "as I love, I rebuke and I chasten." Be zealous, then, and repent. [Prov. 3:12]
20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock: If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will enter to him, and I will dine with him, and he with Me.
21 The one overcoming, I will give to him to sit with Me in My throne, as I also overcame and sat with My Father in His throne.
22 The one who has an ear, hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

[{ 20 & 21 confirm the reward due those who are faithful to death.
I might add at this point that many things said about Jesus or names he is given such as in 14, are from other places in the Bible. This shows a continuity and consistency, and indicates the visions derive from the same source as the others had. This vision from John is reliable and true. }]

Chapter 4  -  A Vision of Heaven   -   24 elders & 4 living creatures
Back to Top

1 After these things I saw. And behold, a door being opened in Heaven! And I heard the first voice as a trumpet speaking with me, saying, Come up here, and I will show you what needs to happen after these things.
2 And at once I became in spirit. And, behold, a throne was set in Heaven, and One sitting on the throne.

[{ "Come up here, and I will show you what needs to happen after these things."
This sets up this chapter. Nothing really happens in this chapter or the next one other than we are given a description of heaven. But John is to be shown what will happen at some time in the future. Jesus is, of course, vague about what time he is referring to as we must keep in mind that he does not want his enemies to realize that he and his people are, and will be, onto their enemies. So it is deliberately worded in vague terms.
But this is the time of the end, the very lasts days, as we shall see as we read on in further chapters, although after having read the first 3 chapters, we should already kind of understand that. }]

3 And the One sitting was in appearance like a jasper stone, and a sardius; and a rainbow was around the throne, in appearance like an emerald.
4 And around the throne I saw twenty four thrones, and on the thrones I saw twenty four elders sitting, having been clothed in white garments. And they had golden crowns on their heads.

[{ Note the 24 elders sitting around the throne. Pay careful attention to their description. It will become apparent as we go on that these elders symbolize those who rule with Jesus from heaven, having formerly lived on earth and having been bought from mankind as first fruits of the harvest so to speak. They are clothed in white and have golden crowns. Descriptions of the rewards given to those who remain faithful in addresses to the 7 churches describe these elders perfectly. }]

5 And out of the throne come forth lightnings and thunders and voices. And seven lamps of fire are burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God;
6 and a glassy sea before the throne, like crystal. And in the midst of the throne and around the throne were four living creatures, full of eyes before and behind.

7 And the first living creature was like a lion; and the second living creature like a calf; and the third living creature having a face like a man; and the fourth living creature like an eagle flying.
8 And the four living creatures each one had six wings around, and within being full of eyes. And they had no rest day and night, saying, "Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty," the One who was, and is, and is coming! [Isa. 6:3]

[{ The creatures appearing here are much like those described in Ezekiel's visions. So the visions are consistent and reliable. }]

9 And when ever the living creatures shall give glory and honor and thanks to the One sitting on the throne, to the One living forever and ever,
10 the twenty four elders fall down before Him sitting on the throne; and they will worship the One living forever and ever, and will throw their crowns before the throne, saying,
11 Lord, You are worthy to receive the glory and the honor and the power, because You created all things, and through Your will they exist and were created.

Chapter 5  -  24 Elders & 7 Seals Seen   -   A scroll with 7 seals  &  24 "elders" purchased from earth to be kings and priests
Back to Top

1 And I saw on the right of the One sitting on the throne a scroll having been written within and on the back, having been sealed with seven seals.
2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a great voice: Who is worthy to open the scroll, and to loosen its seals?
3 And no one in Heaven was able to open the scroll nor to see it, neither on the earth, nor underneath the earth.

4 And I wept much, because no one worthy was found to open and to read the scroll, nor to see it.
5 And one of the elders said to me, Do not weep, Behold, the Lion being of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, overcame so as to open the scroll, and to loose its seven seals.

6 And I saw, and behold, in the midst of the throne, and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, was a Lamb standing, as having been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God, having been sent out into all the earth.
7 And He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him sitting on the throne.
8 And when He took the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one having harps, and golden bowls full of incenses, which are the prayers of the saints.

9 And they sing a new song, saying, Worthy are You to receive the scroll, and to open its seals, because You were slain, and by Your blood purchased us to God out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
10 and made us kings and priests to our God; and we shall reign over the earth.

[{ Note in verse 8 that the elders each have harps and golden bowls of incenses which symbolize the prayers of the saints, God's people. They also sing a new song in verse 9 and say they were bought with Jesus' blood "out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, and in 10, made us kings and priests to our God; and we shall reign over the earth." This was exactly what John said about the churches and himself in Rev. 1:7. So it is clear who the 24 elders represent - those taken from mankind to rule in heaven with Jesus.

This is also definitely the description of the 144,000 in Revelation 14, the ones who are to be Jesus' bride so to speak, also his brothers in John's gospel. So we are getting a glimpse of heaven, sort of in a future tense here, as if all things had already happened, when actually a few things are left to be fulfilled as we shall see. }]

11 And I saw, and I heard a sound of many angels around the throne, and the living creatures, and the elders, and their number was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands,
12 saying with a great voice, Worthy is the Lamb having been slain to receive the power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing.

13 And every creature which is in Heaven, and in the earth, and underneath the earth, and the things that are on the sea, and the things in all of them, I heard saying: To Him sitting on the throne, and to the Lamb be the blessing and the honor and the glory and the might forever and ever.
14 And the four living creatures said, Amen. And the twenty four elders fell down and worshiped the One living forever and ever.

Chapter 6  -  6 of  7 Seals Broken/ Revealed   -   The 4 horsemen of the Apocalypse
Back to Top

[{ Here we begin the opening of the 7 seals of the scroll that Jesus took to open. The seals are 7 visions, each revealed in order.

The march of the four horsemen is a well known vision. But up for dispute is when this is to take place. What can be said is that it takes place before many other things that get revealed after. So these things must first take place before anything else.

Verse 2 clearly indicates Jesus on a white horse fulfilling his mission. Then war, injustice, imbalance, famine, death, and other such sufferings follow with the next 3 horses. }]

1 And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals. And I heard one of the four living creatures, like a sound of thunder, saying, Come and see.
2 And I saw, and behold, a white horse! And the one sitting on it had a bow. And a crown was given to him, and he went out overcoming, and that he might overcome.

3 And when He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, Come and see.
4 And another horse went out, red. And it was given to the one sitting on it to take peace from the earth, and that they should slay one another. And a great sword was given to him.

5 And when He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature saying, Come and see. And I saw, and behold, a black horse, and the one sitting on it having a balance in his hand.
6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, A choenix of wheat for a denarius, and three choenixes of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine.

[{ Verse 6 mentions a choenix. Most translations used the word "measure" or "quart" for this word. What can be said is this would be considered quite expensive in those times, to purchase wheat or barley. }]

7 And when He opened the fourth seal, I heard a voice of the fourth living creature saying, Come and see.
8 And I saw, and behold, a pale green horse, and the name of the one sitting on it was Death; and Hades followed after him. And authority was given to them to kill over the fourth of the earth with sword, and with famine, and with death, and by the wild beasts of the earth.

[{ Pay careful attention to this point between the 4th and 5th seals. The 4 horses are let lose which bring a lot of misery to the earth and those in it. Then with 5th seal we hear from those slain for the word of God. They are told to wait just a little longer till the last wave of martyred Christians arrive. So we are near to that slaughter by the 5th seal. }]

9 And when He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those having been slain for the word of God, and for the witness which they had.
10 And they cried with a great voice, saying, Until when, holy and true Master, do You not judge and take vengeance for our blood, from those dwelling on the earth?
11 And there was given to each one a white robe. And it was said to them that they should rest yet a little time, until might be fulfilled also the number of their fellow-slaves and their brothers, those being about to be killed, even as they.

[{ In verses 9-11 we meet those who have been martyred and those who have yet to be martyred but will be shortly. Those already dead are symbolically given white robes but rest a while longer, meaning that the first resurrection has not taken place at this time in the visions.

Verse 12 begins with the sixth seal. It sort of quotes Joel 2:31. The great day of God's wrath has finally arrived and the nations sort of know it deep inside. The 6th seal about to be broken should be easy to identify later in Revelation after we consider verses 12-17. }]

12 And I saw when He opened the sixth seal. And behold, a great earthquake occurred. And the sun became black as sackcloth made of hair; and the moon became as blood;
13 and the stars of the heaven fell to the earth, as a fig tree being shaken by a great wind casts its unripe figs.
14 And the heaven departed like a scroll being rolled up. And every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

15 And the kings of the earth, and the great ones, and the rich ones, and the commanders, and the powerful ones, and every slave, and every freeman hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains.
16 And "they said to the mountains" and to the rocks, "Fall on us," and hide us from the face of the One sitting on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb, [Hos. 10:8]
17 because the great day of His wrath has come; and who is able to stand?

[{ This is a momentous event that seems to signal the impending arrival and vengeance of the Lamb, the son of God. We will be watching for this. It is likely that this happens just after the last wave of martyred Christians has been accomplished. So there is a lot happen at this junction. The 7th seal will unleash the sounding of 7 trumpets which bring many bad things. But before the 7th seal is opened, the slaves of God must be marked/ sealed in their foreheads as His, in chaps. 7 & 8 next. What we are to understand is that what has been mentioned up to now as taken place before this critical time of the 7 trumpets. The 7 trumpets period is a short compressed one but an extremely important one.
Also note the quotes  in verse 16. They come from Hoshea/Hosea 10:8.

As we shall see, God's people, symbolized as His 2 witnesses and as the seed of the heavenly woman, preach and are nourished in the wilderness in sackcloth for a period describes variously as 1260 days, 42 months, or 3 and a half times, equivalent to 3 and a half lunar years. The 7th head of the beast that will be mentioned has authority over these 2 witnesses for the same amount of time. So possibly the ride of the 4 horsemen of the Apocalypse as they have come to be known, have also been riding during this final time.

But this great earthquake is likely a very big event of a political nature. And right along with it is the sense that the entire world perceives the "approach" of the Lamb, who is not feeling quite so lamb like at the moment. All the world is terrified of Jesus finally getting ready to act and put an end to things so long out of hand. }]

Chapter 7  -  144,000 & a Great Crowd   -   144,000 receive a mark from God, Great crowd comes out of tribulation
Back to Top

1 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on every tree.
2 And I saw another angel coming up from the rising of the sun, having a seal of the living God. And he cried with a great voice to the four angels to whom it was given to them to harm the earth and the sea, saying,
3 Do not harm the earth, nor the sea, nor the trees, until we seal the slaves of our God on their foreheads.
4 And I heard the number of those having been sealed: one hundred forty four thousands, having been sealed out of every tribe of the sons of Israel:

[{ We see angels holding back the furry of the winds, figuratively speaking, not letting anything at all happen to the earth, sea, or trees until God's slaves, those due to reign in heaven, symbolized by the elders in heaven, who remain on earth alive, are sealed on their foreheads. They are figuratively out of the 12 tribes of Israel. So before all hell breaks loose, so to speak, God's servants are carefully indentified and marked. When the tribulation begins, everything is already carved in stone. God has already completed His separating. He has decided who is who and made His judgment.

Paul once told us that people of the nations, called by some Gentiles, are Jews on the inside, sons of Abraham, according to a promise and not to the flesh. These are known by God and have been judged to have proved themselves and can be counted on to remain faithful to God, even unto death, if necessary. And for some, it will be when all hell does break loose. }]

5 Out of the tribe of Judah, twelve thousand having been sealed. Out of the tribe of Reuben, twelve thousand having been sealed. Out of the tribe of Gad, twelve thousand having been sealed.
6 Out of the tribe of Asher, twelve thousand having been sealed. Out of the tribe of Naphtali, twelve thousand having been sealed. Out of the tribe of Manasseh, twelve thousand having been sealed.
7 Out of the tribe of Simeon, twelve thousand having been sealed. Out of the tribe of Levi, twelve thousand having been sealed. Out of the tribe of Issachar, twelve thousand having been sealed.
8 Out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve thousand having been sealed. Out of the tribe of Joseph, twelve thousand having been sealed. Out of the tribe of Benjamin, twelve thousand having been sealed.

[{ You will note that the tribe of Dan is not mentioned at all. Joseph stands for Ephraim and his other son Manasseh is also present and Simeon is back but no Dan. 2nd century Christian writers tell us that Dan was left out because it would be through his lineage that the Antichrist, known as the false prophet in Revelation, and as the man of lawlessness, the man of sin, the son of perdition, the Lawless One, in 2 Thessalonians 2:3, 8; and also known in 1John 2:18 as the antichrist, would descend from. }]

9 After these things I saw, and behold, a great crowd which no one was able to number them, out of every nation, even tribes and peoples and tongues standing in front of the throne, and before the Lamb, having been clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands.
10 And they cry with a great voice, saying, Salvation to our God sitting on the throne, and to the Lamb.

[{ We are also introduced to a great crowd in verse 9, also from every nation, tribe, and people. They are identified in verse 14. These are the ones who the kings and priests, also known as the 24 elders and the 144,000, along with the Lamb, guide the great crowd, as the shepherds of the great crowd here on earth. Revelation 21 sounds just like this, too. }]

11 And all the angels and of the elders and of the four living creatures stood around the throne. And they fell before the throne on their faces, and worshiped God,
12 saying, Amen. Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and strength to our God forever and ever. Amen.
13 And one of the elders answered, saying to me, These, the ones having been clothed in the white robes, who are they, and from where did they come?

14 And I said to him, Sir, you know. And he said to me, These are those coming out of the great tribulation; and they washed their robes and whitened them in the blood of the Lamb.
15 Because of this they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His sanctuary. And He sitting on the throne will spread His tabernacle over them.
16 And they will not hunger still, nor will they thirst still, nor at all shall fall on them the sun, nor any kind of heat.
17 Because the Lamb in the midst of the throne will shepherd them, and will lead them on the living fountains of waters; and God will wipe off every tear from their eyes.

[{ Note this scripture:
Isaiah 49:10 They shall not hunger nor thirst; and the heat and sun shall not strike them. For He who has mercy on them shall lead them; and He shall guide them by the springs of water.
Sounds just like what we read in Revelation, doesn't it? That was a promise taken from the Law and the Prophets which pertained to a fulfillment on earth. So we are encountering both aspects of the promises of God, both of a heavenly reward for some and an earthly reward for others. The law and prophets did not change. There would be an earthly fulfillment among the promises of God.

The great crowd comes out of the great tribulation. You know? The one the likes of which has never been seen before or will ever be seen again? They are the rest of the harvest. They have not proven and demonstrated their faith in the same measure that those of the 144,000 have, but they satisfy the requirements of God and will get a chance to prove themselves in a test at the end of the thousand years which we will learn about in chapter 20.

You will read the description made in verses 15-17 again in Revelation 21, applying to those on earth after the end. God's tabernacle/tent used to be the temple before Solomon built the one in Jerusalem. The first temple was just a tent built by Moses and continued to be used up to the time of Solomon. So when God spreads His tabernacle over them, he is spreading His temple and court yard (enlarging it) out over them to include them. He comes down to them on earth, so to speak. They do not go up to Him as the 144,000 do. }]

Chapter 8  -  4 Trumpets of 7 Sounded   -   Great harm comes to earth but not the worst
Back to Top

1 And when He opened the seventh seal, a silence occurred in Heaven, about a half hour.
2 And I saw the seven angels who stood before God, and seven trumpets were given to them.

[{ Recall that the 7th seal could not be opened until the slaves of God (144,000) had been carefully sealed, that is, marked as His. Now that 7th seal is opened and now 7 angels are about to blow 7 trumpets to announce new events, terrible things. So let the games begin! This is that hell breaking loose finally. It is a relatively short compressed period of time right near the very end. }]

3 And another angel came and stood on the altar, having a golden censer. And many incenses were given to him, that he give them with the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar before the throne.
4 And the smoke of the incenses went up with the prayers of the saints out of the hand of the angel before God.
5 And the angel has taken the censer, and has filled it from the fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth; and sounds and thunders and lightnings and earthquakes occurred.

[{ Prayers and incense offerings go up to God from His people. And God is receiving them and hearing them. He is not deaf and is not ignoring them, either. }]

6 And the seven angels having the seven trumpets prepared themselves, that they might trumpet.
7 And the first angel trumpeted. And hail and fire mixed with blood occurred. And it was cast onto the earth; and the third part of the trees was burned down; and all green grass was burned down.
8 And the second angel trumpeted. And as a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea. And the third part of the sea became blood;
9 and the third part of the creatures having souls died in the sea; and the third part of the ships was destroyed.
10 And the third angel trumpeted. And a great burning star, like a lamp, fell out of the heaven. And it fell onto the third part of the rivers, and onto the fountains of waters.
11 And the name of the star is said to be Wormwood. And the third part of the waters became changed into wormwood. And many men died from the waters, because they were bitter.
12 And the fourth angel trumpeted. And the third part of the sun, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars, was struck, that the third part of them might be darkened, and the third part of the day might not appear; and in the same way the night.

[{ As for the 1st 4 seals, they cause much harm to the earth, sea, vegetation, and men. But I suspect that this is all symbolic, though it certainly has a somewhat literal fulfillment in the 21st century as much of the earth has been scorched by war and industrialization. But God's people are not the focus at this point, it would appear. These likely symbolize the miseries that would visit those on earth at this time as society goes from bad to worse. All hell breaks loose after Christians are imprisoned and an incredible bloodshed and destruction begins in these 4 seals. }]

13 And I saw, and I heard one angel flying in mid-heaven, saying with a great voice, Woe! Woe! Woe to those dwelling on the earth, from the rest of the voices of the trumpet of the three angels being about to trumpet!

[{ The last 3 trumpets of woe are in the next chapters. Really, everything has been relatively mild compared to what is now to follow with the next 3 trumpets. These shall bring the things that have a lot of importance to Christians. So in many respects, we can write off much of what has happened up to now. History has been tragic, for sure, but the critical messages are now to follow. This will be where we need to focus on intensely and with great care.

It is important to realize that this is all happening while God's people are present, not raptured to heaven. God's people are possibly affected by all this. But as to what this will really mean for us can not be certain, given the symbolism involved. I would say that we will understand after it has happened what it really signified. The more important information for us comes after this. }]

Chapter 9  -  Trumpets 5 & 6   -   The plague of locusts, armies, cavalry unleashed on earth to torment
Back to Top

1 And the fifth angel trumpeted. And I saw a star out of the heaven falling onto the earth. And the key to the pit of the abyss was given to it.

2 And he opened the pit of the abyss. And smoke went up out of the pit, like smoke of a great furnace. And the sun was darkened, and the air, by the smoke of the pit.

[{ The 5th trumpet introduces us to a "star" out of heaven with a key to the abyss. In verse 11, he is called a king of the locusts. We will meet him again later in chapter 20. It's Jesus! Locusts come out to torment men 5 months. 5 months would be about the life span of a real locust, so I gather that they torment men for their life span, a short time, compared to 42 months, at least. Both the 5 months and the 42 months are more likely to be symbolic.

This torment by these locusts is no doubt symbolic as most things in Revelation are. The torment is likely due to messages from the Bible, which people hate to hear and are tormented by. I suspect the locusts could be God's people delivering messages that none want to hear or be reminded of. I will deal more with this later in covering the 2 witnesses. But this is a plague particularly hated by those who hate God. A fate worse than death, if you can believe that. }]

3 And out of the smoke locusts came forth to the earth. And authority was given to them, as the scorpions of the earth have authority.
4 And it was said to them that they should not harm the grass of the earth, nor every green thing, nor every tree, except only the men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads.
5 And it was given to them that they should not kill them, but that they be tormented five months. And their torment is as the torment of a scorpion when it stings a man.
6 And in those days men will seek death, and they will not find it. And they will long to die, yet death will flee from them.
7 And the likenesses of the locusts were like horses having been prepared for war; and on their heads as crowns, like gold; and their faces like the faces of men.
8 And they had hairs like the hairs of women; and their teeth were like those of lions.
9 And they had breastplates like iron breastplates; and the sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots with many horses running to war.
10 And they have tails like scorpions, and their stings were in their tails; and their authority is to harm men five months.
11 And they have a king over them, the angel of the abyss. In Hebrew his name was Abaddon, and in Greek he has the name Apollyon.

[{ The locusts have a king over them, the angel of the abyss. If it is Jesus as I suggest, then this makes it more likely the locusts are his people in symbolic language who seem like a plague to those on earth who do not love God. Note the interesting contrast between this passage and the following:
Proverbs 30:27 the locusts have no king, yet they go out in a swarm, all of them.
Locusts do not normally have a king or leader but yet these locusts do. Their king is none other than Jesus so these locusts are likely God's people with a message of torment for those who wage war with Christ and his people. This must happen before some other things happen at the 6th and 7th trumpet blasts. I believe this is a huge last minute preaching work, a dire warning to the people of the earth, showing them the folly of their conduct and to repent or they will be certain to die.

I believe it is this last plague unleashed on the world that causes them to strike back at the angel of the abyss - king of the locusts by attacking God's people for their unwelcomed message. We must preach and be counted and we must accept the fate for telling the truth and trying to save people from impending doom. This will be why God will punish the world so severely, for striking His people when they are trying to help the idiots avoid death sure to come at the hands of the devil, his beast, and his false prophet.

Also, given that these torment men 5 months when typically, 42 months or 1260 days has applied to God's people, we might assume that this is a much shorter period right before God's people are completely silenced. So God's people got some interesting work ahead shortly. On the other hand, it may very well be that these locusts will function for 3.5 years, being the 1st half of the week of years in Daniel 9 where the false prophet (antichrist) concludes a covenant, a deal, with the people of the world. The 5 months is symbolic but its interpretation eludes me. Perhaps it is Daniel that solves it. But I think what I suggest here is verified by Chapter 11's visions, granting 3.5 years for this preaching work.

I should point out that if one wants a good tutor on how to interpret the 5th and 6th trumpets, I recommend Joel 1 & 2 as he talks about locusts and armies in the same language. Joel and Revelation sound a lot alike here. }]

12 The first woe has departed; behold, after these things come two woes.
13 And the sixth angel trumpeted. And I heard one voice out of the four horns of the golden altar before God,
14 saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, Release the four angels, those having been bound at the great river Euphrates.
15 And the four angels were released, those having been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, that they should kill the third part of men.

[{ The 4 angels, the 4 being held back in chapter 7, are let loose and hell with it, too, so to speak. Their location by the Euphrates will prove to be interesting later. And we see an army let loose to harm men as well in verse 16 & 17 below. It still sounds like the locusts but with more people having joined them, perhaps. the things they say to the world, greatly anger those who thought they could fool the world and no one would know. But these pesky locusts - armies - cavalry interrupt everything. }]

16 And the number of the armies of the cavalry was two myriads of myriads; and I heard their number.
17 And so I saw in the vision the horses, and those sitting on them, having fire-colored breastplates, even dusky red and brimstone-like; and the heads of the horses as heads of lions; and out of their mouths come fire and smoke and brimstone.

[{ I believe that 16 & 17 are just other ways of describing the visions of the locusts let lose by the 5th trumpet blast. These horses and those who sit on them are frightful terrifying images. They will be frightful to a world alienated from God. The words and message are like fire and brimstone to men. Isn't it odd that some should find God's words and message so detestable, as if being like fire and brimstone! }]

18 By these three were killed the third part of men, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone coming out of their mouths.
19 For their authority is in their mouth, and in their tails; for their tails are like snakes, having heads, and they do harm with them.
20 And the rest of men, those not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they will not worship demons, and "golden idols, and silver, and bronze, and stone, and wooden idols, which neither are able to see, nor to hear," nor to walk. Dan. 5:23; Psa. 115:4-7; 135:15-17
21 And they did not repent of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornications, nor of their thefts.

[{ But despite all the harm and torment, much of it no doubt a result of their own wicked works, these remaining men do not repent of their wicked deeds. They just can not and will not be helped or changed. They would rather die than change and die they will. They can not bear to hear the message coming from the locusts of the angel of the abyss who sends them on their mission to deliver his message. So before all hell breaks loose, we have a message to deliver, do we not? We do not know what the full extent of the circumstances will be from this book alone, but we know what our job will be. }]

Chapter 10  -  The 7th Trumpet - The End

1 And I saw another strong angel coming down out of the heaven, having been clothed with a cloud, and a rainbow on the head; and his face as the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire.
2 And he had in his hand a little scroll having been opened. And he placed his right foot on the sea, and the left on the land,
3 and cried with a great voice, as a lion roars. And when he cried, the seven thunders spoke their sounds.

4 And when the seven thunders spoke their sounds, I was about to write. And I heard a voice out of Heaven saying to me, Seal what things the seven thunders spoke, and do not write these things.

5 And the angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land lifted his hand to Heaven,
6 and swore by Him living forever and ever, "who created the heaven" and the things in it, "and the earth" and the things in it, "and the sea and the things in it," that time shall no longer be; [Ex. 20:11]
7 but in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, whenever he is about to trumpet, was even ended the mystery of God, as He preached to His slaves, the prophets.

[{ This is a very important point in Revelation. The "mystery" of God ends when the 7th trumpet sounds. So it is likely that what happens to God's people happens between the 6th and 7th trumpet blows when the great woe is to befall the earth and those in it. This is a very compressed period of time. The next chapters are going to expand this small compressed period of time. We have been given an overview in our first glimpse. Now to zoom in closer. John is going to prophesy and tell us more about this very interesting but short time period before the 7th trumpet blast to end the mystery of God.

I believe this 7th trumpet blast is the very same referred to by Paul in 1 Thessalonians 4:15 which I will quote in the next chapter.}]

8 And the voice which I heard out of Heaven was again speaking to me, and saying, Go, take the little scroll having been opened in the hand of the angel standing on the sea and on the land.
9 And I went away toward the angel, saying to him, Give the little scroll to me. And he said to me, Take and eat it up, and it will make your belly bitter, but it will be sweet as honey in your mouth.
10 And I took the little scroll out of the angel's hand, and devoured it. And it was sweet like honey in my mouth; and when I ate it, my belly was made bitter.
11 And he said to me, You must again prophesy before peoples and nations and tongues and many kings.

[{ We have been shown that we must deliver a message in a very critical time, not far from the end. What follows is to prepare us and brace us for the results of this assignment give to us to carry out. }]

Chapter 11  -  2 Witnesses prophesy, are "killed,"    -   and come back to life. The End finally arrives.

[{ This chapter is very important in understanding the things to take place as it related to God's people. Keep your ears open wide. }]

1 And a reed like a staff was given to me, and the angel stood, saying, Rise and measure the temple of God and the altar, and those worshiping in it.
2 And cast aside the outside court of the temple, and do not measure it. For it was given to the nations, and they will trample the holy city forty two months.

[{ God's temple in Jerusalem had an outer courtyard that surrounded the holy and most holy rooms in the middle. The figurative temple also has an outer courtyard, occupied by God's people on earth. There is also the literal temple that was trampled and destroyed by Babylon and the rebuilt temple trampled by Rome. But we see it is the figurative courtyard as represented by God's people that will be trampled but not quite yet. And they are to prophecy in sackcloth for 1260 days, which is 42 months on a lunar calendar used in the Bible in the next verses.

That they are in sackcloth indicates mourning. They are not happy. Life is not that great right now. Christians of the last 300 years in the USA have been relatively at peace. But as in all other ages and periods, finally the persecution is visited upon them for speaking the word of God, the authentic word, for it is only the authentic word the brings troubles. The false messages never bring trouble.

The USA has lied to Christians for years and led them to fight wars, vote for liars and go along with rotten political policies and laws. Finally, the government no longer needs these trouble makers and shows its true colors. It catches them a bit off guard and by surprise at first. Maybe some fall. Some compromise. And some deliver the message of God, having been expecting this for some time and being ready. }]

3 And I will give to My two witnesses, and they will prophesy a thousand, two hundred and sixty days, dressed in sackcloth.
4 These are the two olive trees, and the two lampstands, standing before the God of the earth.
5 And if anyone desires to harm them, fire comes out of their mouth and devours their enemies. And if anyone desires to harm them, so it is right for him to be killed.
6 These have the authority to shut up the heaven, that no rain may rain in the days of their prophecy. And they have authority over the waters, to turn them into blood, and to strike the earth with every plague, as often as they desire.

[{ 5 & 6 lead me to propose that the 2 witnesses are the locusts we read about earlier. In verse 5, they can devour their enemies with fire. They can make the rain stop, turn water to blood like Moses, and strike the earth with every sort of plague. They are fully empowered as God's prophets as Elijah and Elisha both were in doing similar things. So I would say that this 3.5 year period coincides with the visions of the locusts of the 5th and 6th trumpets in chap. 9. It precedes the worst events. }]

7 And when they complete their witness, the beast coming up out of the abyss will make war with them, and will overcome them, and will kill them.

[{ It seems clear that the witness of God's people will come to an end, a completion, due to an attack from the beast. But there is a particular reason for bringing up this end of the preaching, which was rather strong up to this point. I am thinking that when the antichrist first arrives, these locusts/ witnesses cry foul at his claims and they are a real nuisance to him. So the beast, false prophet and Babylon have to get rid of these big mouth trouble makers  raining on the parade of the real "haters" of God and His people.. }]

8 And their bodies will be on the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom, and Egypt, where our Lord was crucified.

[{ Pay strict attention to that phrase "the great city." It will be very important. This "great city" will be later identified in Revelation 17:18. This Great City is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt and where Jesus was killed; that being Jerusalem. A riddle to answer, no? Who is it that represents the single entity named by 3 different symbols, Sodom, Egypt, and Jerusalem? I ask but I do not answer yet. But if God's people are all over the earth and are killed, at least figuratively, then this great city must also be symbolic and encompass the world and that will prove to be the case later. It is the power and influence which constitutes a "city" and pervades all the world. }]

9 And some from the peoples and tribes and tongues and nations will see their dead bodies three days and a half; and they do not allow their dead bodies to be put in tombs.
10 And those living on the earth will rejoice over them, and will make merry. And they will send one another gifts, because these two prophets tormented those living on the earth.
11 And after three days and a half, a spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood on their feet. And great fear fell on the ones beholding them.
12 And they heard a great voice out of Heaven saying to them, Come up here. And they went up into the heaven in the cloud. And their enemies saw them.

[{ 3 and a half days is not a long time compared to 1260 days. But this is one of those times where God keeps changing the mode of interpretation. 3.5 days and 1260 days are one in the same. 3.5 days is applied a day for a year whereas the 1260 days is direct. Both establish the same length of time, 3.5 years. So for 3.5 years, the 2 witnesses of God are "dead." Then they come back to life. I belief this coincides with Ezekiel 37 where God's people also come to life again. Their "resurrection" causes their enemies to perceive that God is at work for them. This phrase of them going up into heaven in the cloud and their enemies seeing them is what was said about Jesus earlier.

Also recall that in an earlier vision, the 6th seal of chap. 6, people sense the coming of the Christ and are scared and dread him approaching. They know it means their judgment and death for they recall the words of the locusts, the 2 witnesses of God, 3.5 years earlier. This vision may coincide with seal 6 of chap. 6.

I am sure there are plenty of those who die in this time for God at the beginning of the 2nd 3.5 years. But since there are to be survivors on earth, there must also be many more of those who only die symbolically as their witnessing work is stopped and perhaps they are imprisoned or made illegal at least. And to get an accurate interpretation we must match this vision up with the others which describe the same events, using different symbols. Doing that, I think it is hard to conclude that this death of the entire body of the 2 witnesses is a literal one nor is their "ascension" to heaven literal, no more than sins piling up to heaven mentioned later in Revelation. For one thing, few things anywhere in Revelation are literal, anyway. Some numbers are given as literal but mixed with symbolic ones as well.

The next verse could be tricky for verses 9-12 describe a number of events and a period of 3.5 years, both its beginning and its end, 3.5 "days" later. I am not sure if verse 13 occurs at the beginning or the end of 3.5 days, which I take to be years. Of course, I could be wrong. }]

13 And in that hour a great earthquake occurred, and the tenth part of the city fell. And there were killed in the earthquake seven thousand names of men. And the rest became terrified, and gave glory to the God of Heaven.

[{ This offers a very interesting possibility. The 2 witnesses come to life and a 10th of the city fell and the rest, whoever they are, become terrified and give glory to God. Very interesting. Maybe some at this point will embrace Christ as a result of what they see when they behold Christians coming back to life or maybe if their ascension into heaven in the clouds is more literal than I am appreciating. But if this does match up with Ezekiel 37, then it would almost certainly be a symbolic rise or resurrection. But enough that in some way inspires some to give glory to God. We shall wait and see. This is end of the 2nd woe. I am hoping it is a sign that some will finally come to their senses and repent. We shall see.

I suspect that prophecies from Daniel and Ezekiel, maybe even Zechariah, might help solve the remaining "mysteries" we are trying to solve. And there is always time, right? Anyway, this is the passing of the 2nd woe. The 3rd is the last so hold on tight. }]

14 The second woe departed. And, behold, the third woe is coming quickly.
15 And the seventh angel trumpeted. And there were great voices in Heaven, saying, The kingdoms of the world became our Lord's, even of His Christ; and He shall reign forever and ever.

[{ The 7th trumpet is the end, the finish. I propose that this is the same event Paul referred to in 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18 and 1 Corinthians 15:50-53, the final 7th trumpet.

1 Thessalonians 4:
15  For we say this to you in the Word of the Lord, that we the living who remain to the coming of the Lord not at all will go before those who have fallen asleep.
16  Because the Lord Himself shall come down from Heaven with a commanding shout of an archangelís voice, and with Godís trumpet. And the dead in Christ will rise again first.
17  Then we who remain alive will be caught up together with them in the clouds to a meeting with the Lord in the air. And so we will always be with the Lord.
18  So, then, comfort each other with these words.

1 Corinthians 15:
50  And I say this, brothers, that flesh and blood is not able to inherit the kingdom of God , nor does corruption inherit incorruption.
51  Behold, I speak a mystery to you: we shall not all fall asleep, but we shall all be changed.
52  In a moment, in a glance of an eye, at the last trumpet; for a trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall all be changed.
53  For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

But this is the end, from an overview. Further chapters zoom in for a closer focus on certain events or time periods. Certain things are expanded and given more detail and attention, which is why Revelation does not end here at the 7th trumpet in chapter 11.

Now the  3rd woe is just before the 7th trumpet, when all things are fulfilled for this age, the last days finally come to an end. It is very clear in verse 18. What we are interested in is that very brief period of time just before the 7th trumpet but concurrent with or happening just after the 6th trumpet. This is where the 3rd woe will be found. More will be explained in the next chapters. }]

16 And the twenty four elders sitting before God on their thrones fell on their faces and worshiped God,
17 saying, We thank You, Lord God Almighty, the One who is, and who was, and who is coming, because You took Your great power and reigned.
18 And the nations were full of wrath; and Your wrath came, and the time of the judging of the dead, and to give the reward to Your slaves, to the prophets, and to the saints, and to the ones fearing Your name, to the small and to the great, and to destroy those destroying the earth.

[{ This last chapter give us very important details. It tells us the witness work will end and God's people will be symbolically killed. A significant number will even be literally killed as we will see. Chapter 11 actually has one more verse but it more properly belongs with chapter 12's visions. Revelation indicates we have more to learn yet. }]

19 And the temple of God in Heaven was opened, and the ark of His covenant was seen in His temple, and lightnings, and voices, and thunders, and earthquake, and a great hail occurred.

Chapter 12  -  The Woman & Her Seed   -   A Genesis 3 prophecy fulfilled
Back to Top

1 And a great sign was seen in the heavens, a woman having been clothed with the sun, and the moon was underneath her feet; and on her head a crown of twelve stars;
2 and having a babe in womb. She cries, being in labor, and having been distressed to bear.

[{ This is no ordinary woman. She is a symbolic woman. We first meet her in Genesis 3 where God says there will be enmity between her seed and the "serpent's" seed all the way to the end. We meet a woman with heavenly associations who gives birth to the messiah. The devil wants to make trouble for her and the remaining ones of her seed. The dragon will be identified as the devil shortly. Paul says this:
Galatians 4:26 but the Jerusalem from above is free, who is the mother of us all.
This might be that heavenly woman of whom we are the heavenly seed, as mentioned in Genesis 3 in regards to the woman and her seed battling the serpent and its seed and winning. Her seed overcomes the devil by remaining faithful, even to the point of death, and being resurrected after. }]

3 And another sign was seen in the heavens. And, behold, a great red dragon having seven heads and ten horns! And on his heads were seven diadems,
4 and his tail drew the third part of the stars of the heaven, and he throws them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman being about to bear, so that when she bears he might devour her child.
5 And she bore a son, a male, who is going to shepherd all the nations with an iron staff. And her child was caught away to God, and to His throne.
6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she had a place, it having been prepared from God, that there they might nourish her a thousand two hundred and sixty days.

[{ The woman's seed is part of the seed mentioned in Genesis 3, that battles the serpent/dragon and his seed. This is a fulfillment of that prophecy. Those who do not obey God are the serpent's seed, even as we are the heavenly woman's seed, and Abraham's seed. It is God's people who are nourished for 1260 days in the wilderness. This clearly is the 2 witnesses again. I think this is the 1st half of the one week, 7 year covenant mentioned in Daniel 9:27 which the antichrist makes with the world. In the middle of the week, he causes God's people to cease functioning at all.

A war now breaks out in heaven and all hell breaks loose on earth as a result. }]

7 And war occurred in Heaven, Michael and his angels making war against the dragon. And the dragon and his angels made war,
8 but they did not have strength, nor yet was place found for them in Heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, the old serpent being called Devil, and, Satan; he deceiving the whole habitable world was cast out onto the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

[{ As you see, the devil also has angels who have followed him. These were the ones who came down to earth in the days of Noah to live as humans and mate with the women of the earth. They were cast down after the woman has had 3.5 years in the wilderness. I can not explain exactly what this nourishment is in the wilderness but we are helped out during this period as we "prophesy" and then God allows the devil one last shot at us to test us. }]

10 And I heard a great voice saying in Heaven, Now has come the salvation and power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Christ, because the accuser of our brothers is thrown down, the one accusing them before our God day and night.
11 And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony. And they did not love their soul even until death.
12 Because of this, be glad, the heavens and those tabernacling in them. Woe to the ones dwelling on the earth, and in the sea, because the Devil came down to you having great anger, knowing that he has a little time!
13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast out onto the earth, he pursued the woman who bore the male.
14 And two wings of the great eagle were given to the woman, that she might fly into the wilderness, to her place, where she is nourished there a time, and times, and half a time, away from the serpent's face.

[{ Time, times, and a half time was a Hebrew way of one, two, and a half, sort of like Abraham Lincoln spoke of 87 years as four score and seven years. So I am assuming that the 3 and a half times is the same equivalent as 3.5 years, or 1260 days. The woman has a measure of protection from the serpent for a while. But it shall come to an end. But I offer caution and confess a little bit of uncertainty. But given the various prophecies of Daniel, I think this is a likely interpretation. Verse 11 is import in this. Some must die for their "prophecies" and the rest will be imprisoned, or certainly robbed of any legal power. But I suspect a symbolic death would include concentration camps or the like. Its been done before, right? }]

15 And the serpent threw water out of his mouth like a river after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried off by the river.
16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed the river which the dragon threw out of his mouth.
17 And the dragon was enraged over the woman, and went away to make war with the rest of her seed, those keeping the commandments of God, and having the testimony of Jesus Christ.

[{ The devil now intends to make war with the remaining ones of the woman's seed. That's us, folks. So look out, he is very mad.
Like chapter 11, chapter 13, coming up, is a very critical chapter to understand. It portends important things for God's people to know and yet to hide from others. So we are set up for a battle between Satan and God's people as we start chapter 13. I would say chapter 13 is the most important chapter in Revelation. }]

Chapter 13  -  A Beast, False Prophet, & Image/Idol   -   Can not buy or sell without the mark of the beast
Back to Top

1 And I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten diadems, and on its heads names of blasphemy.
2 And the beast which I saw was like a leopard, and its feet as of a bear, and its mouth as a lion's mouth. And the dragon gave its power to it, and its throne, and great authority.
3 And I saw one of its heads, as having been slain to death, and its deadly wound was healed. And all the earth marveled after the beast.

[{ Recall above in chap. 12 that the great red dragon had 7 heads, 10 horns, and 7 diadems. They are his to give and he does give them. Here in verse 1 is a political power with 7 heads and 10 horns. Recall a beast in Daniel had 10 horns as well. One horn from that beast became the antichrist. The horns have 10 diadems, typically found on crowns of rulership and the heads have names of blasphemy so it is obviously no friend of God. This political monster has the blessing and power of Satan the dragon. }]

4 And they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, Who is like the beast; who is able to make war with it?
5 And a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies was given to it. And authority to act forty two months was given to it.
6 And it opened its mouth in blasphemy toward God, to blaspheme His name and His tabernacle, and those tabernacling in Heaven.

[{ This beast impresses people as they say, who is able to make war with it or take it on. It is intimidating. And those who worshipped the beast also worship the devil, knowingly and/or unknowingly. And it speaks great things, grandiose things, sounding so noble and idealistic but it is all lies. And it blasphemes God, His name, His real temple, the heavenly host and anything else to do with God, including the 2 witnesses. They really carry a grudge, don't they? And lastly, they are going after the 2 witnesses and putting them away for 42 months. They probably intend these people to be put away forever but God says, just 3.5 years. }]

7 And it was given to it "to war with the saints, and to overcome them." And authority was given to it over every tribe and tongue and nation. [Dan. 7:21]
8 And all those dwelling in the earth will worship it, those of whom the names had not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb having been slain from the foundation of the world.

[{ By default, if you do not worship God, and you go along with the beast, then you are said to worship the beast and the devil who gives the beast power and authority, which authority he does have to give, allowed by God for a limited time. The saints will be overcome during this 3.5 years/ 42 months/ 1260 days. }]

9 If anyone has an ear, let him hear.
10 If anyone gathers captivity, into captivity he goes. If anyone will kill by a sword, by a sword he must be killed. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

[{ Verses 9 & 10 warns Christians not to have anything to do with taking anyone captive or killing anyone lest they also be captured and/or killed as punishment. Christians might do well to not be involved with law enforcement or the military. Yet, isn't it odd how many who call themselves Christians, serve in the military and have for centuries. Get out while you can. Better yet, don't join. Saints take notice. But there is more to learn about these two verses in Jeremiah, whose words are strangely similar. }]

Jeremiah 15:
1  Then Jehovah said to me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before Me, My soul could not be toward this people. Send them out from before My face; yea, let them go out.
2  And it will be, if they say to you, Where shall we go? Then you will tell them, So says Jehovah, Those who are for death, go to death; and those for the sword, to the sword; and those for the famine, to the famine; and those for the captivity, to the captivity.
3  And I will set over them four kinds, says Jehovah: the sword to kill, and the dogs to drag off, and the birds of the heaven and the beast of the earth to devour and destroy.
4  And I will make them a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth, because of Manasseh, the son of Hezekiah, king of Judah ; for what he did in Jerusalem .
5  For who shall have pity on you, O Jerusalem? Or who shall weep over you? Or who shall turn aside to ask your welfare?
6  You have forsaken Me, says Jehovah. You have gone backward, so I will stretch out My hand against you and destroy you; I am weary of repenting.
7  And I will sift them with a fork in the gates of the land; I will bereave; I will destroy My people, for they do not turn from their ways.
8  Their widows are more numerous about Me than the sand of the seas. I have brought for them a ravager at noonday against the mother of a young man; I caused anguish and terror to fall on her suddenly.
9  She who bore seven now languishes; she has breathed out her life; her sun has gone down while it was still day. She has been ashamed and humiliated, and I will deliver the rest of them to the sword before their enemies, says Jehovah.

[{ It seems clear from Jeremiah that Jehovah is talking about judgment. The judgment is for those who fight, capture, or kill, or at least, intend to do so. None of these shall live in God's book. God wants peaceful people representing Him. He wants people without reproach, people who are hard to find fault with. He wants the actions of the world and the devil to be without excuse or legitimate reason. It will make His actions against these evil ones quite justified, even as they were against pharaoh in the days of Moses.

Another aspect is that many so called "patriot" or "constitutional" groups advocate government resistance and rebellion, to take back their government. Have nothing to do with these, who sound the call to bear arms. If you  kill . . .  then you will die. Or if you participate in a riot, gang war, race war or other civil rebellion, you will likely be killed as I believe it is the intention of the political powers to let riots rage out of control in order for an excuse to decrease the surplus population. If you get involved, you will die. And if the others fighting don't get you, the government might, as it has gathered large amounts of info on each person alive so as to determine, if possible, who is a potential threat and who is not. Anyone deemed a serious threat might be executed. Regardless of the scenario, stay out of anything that does not directly involve obeying God's laws.

God is in control at this point and will not tolerate anyone who is willing to kill or take prisoners in para-military movements. Have nothing to do with the military, para-military, or politics. Be strictly neutral so that you share no blame in the crap that will be going on in this time. God wants us all free from sin and guilt, absolutely blameless, unlike the world, who will be severely punished for their wickedness. Be innocent, upright, blameless! Holy and righteous before God! }]

11 And I saw another beast coming up out of the earth. And it had two horns like a lamb, but spoke like a dragon.
12 And it executes all the authority of the first beast before it. And it causes that the earth and those dwelling in it should worship the first beast, of which was healed its deadly wound.
13 And it [the "lamb beast"] does great signs, that even fire it causes to come down out of the heaven onto the earth before men.

[{ Now we meet another beast, sort of looking like a lamb (he is called the False Prophet in chap. 19) but speaking like a dragon. It causes many to worship the first beast and does great signs before men, as we are warned about in 2 Thessalonians 2 with the man of sin spoken of by Paul. This beast will later in this book (chap.19) be called the false prophet as well, as he misleads, pretending to be a prophet, messiah/christ, or God. He in known in 2 letters of John as the Antichrist. He has all the power of the beast behind him. Kind of handy, huh? Jesus warned of false prophets and Christs, though it is not discernible that he had one, in particular, in mind but certainly Daniel and the Apostles had one in particular, in mind, so that the words of Jesus become more relevant here.

This "image" had received a death stroke in a vision earlier and came back to like and all were impressed. What image is it that resembles a political power of world proportions and power? Well, I guess the United Nations is about the only choice I can think of that might be used to facilitate the power of the first political beast, carrying 7 heads and 10 horns, symbolic of its complete power over everything political, I assume. And the UN indeed, as the League of Nations after WWI min 1919, did fail and die in WWII. From its ashes came the UN after WWII. Sounds like it might be a match to the symbols of the Bible and seems to reflect the world situation accurately.

I had thought at one point that the fall of Germany in WWII and its unification and revival, along with the concurrent collapse of the Soviet Empire, might be a sign post that we were getting near to the end. It certainly impressed a lot of people as a great sign of hope and the supposed victory of "democracy." But I think at this point that this image serves as the operating agency for the composite political beast and I don't think Germany united qualifies. The UN would be a far more reasonable choice for what we read about. }]

14 And it deceives those dwelling on the earth, because of the signs which were given to it to do before the beast [with 7 heads, 10 horns], saying to those dwelling on the earth to make an image to the beast who has the wound of the sword, and lived.
15 And was given to it to give a spirit to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might even speak, and might cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.
16 And the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the freemen and the slaves, it causes that they give to them all a mark on their right hand, or on their foreheads,
17 even that not any could buy or sell, except the one having the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of its name.

[{ This false prophet deceives all by the signs and wonders it performs and this "prince" makes a deal and has everyone make an image of the "beast." This image is given a spirit, life, and even power and authority, maybe even teeth. Through this image everyone who goes along with it receives a symbolic mark, even as the servants of God have one as well, given by God. So everyone on earth receives a mark of either the devil or God. It is decided at this time who is who. What happens after does not happen by accident. Which mark we have will determine our fate. Anyone rejecting the beast, its image, and the false prophet will not be able to buy or sell. Pretty hard to survive if we can not buy or sell, right? And with today's technology, it could easily be done. Here is where the patience of the saints is vital. We must not go along with the league of the devil, at any cost.

These will be perilous times for Christians. We have had it soft and easy for so long here in the USA. But in the end, we will have to pass a very hard test. We must pass it if we want to live. We have been warned! So we know we are going to be attacked and overcome. This chapter makes it pretty clear. Our time in the wilderness being nourished is about to end, I guess. Revelation will enlighten us more about this. }]

18 Here is wisdom: Let the one having reason count the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man and its number is six hundred and sixty six.

[{ I think there is too much time given to trying to figure out what the 666 is. We will know when we need to know. The mark is almost certainly symbolic anyway, whether the mark is from God or the beast. The mark of the beast will involve compromising our faith and allegiance to God, or might involve worship of the image of the beast or the false prophet. }]

Chapter 14  -  144,000 & Babylon   -   and a "harvest" of the earth. Beware of compromising!

1 And I saw, and behold, the Lamb standing on Mount Zion! And with Him were a hundred and forty four thousands, with the name of His Father having been written on their foreheads.

[{ Just as those who worship the beast have his mark, or name, or number, so God's people, those who are due to go to heaven, also have the name of their God on their foreheads. They are fully marked before the 7th seal with its 7 trumpets to follow. Everyone on both sides is marked and identified in numerous ways. This is the separation of the sheep and the goats, the wheat and the weeds. It happens near the very end. }]

2 And I heard a sound out of Heaven, as a sound of many waters, and as a sound of great thunder. Also I heard a sound of harpers harping on their harps.
3 And they sing as a new song before the throne, and before the four living creatures and the elders. And no one was able to learn the song except the hundred and forty four thousands, those having been redeemed from the earth.
4 These are the ones who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are the ones following the Lamb wherever He may go. These were redeemed from among men as a firstfruit to God and to the Lamb.
5 And no guile was found in their mouth, for they are without blemish before the throne of God.

[{ Here we meet up again with the hundred and forty four thousand who are described as Christians who are rewarded and are how the 24 elders are often described, having harps singing new songs that only they know and having been redeemed from the earth. They follow the Lamb Jesus wherever he goes, even if that is death. These are the first fruits of the harvest of God and the Lamb. We will see the harvest again near the end of this chapter. Jesus once spoke of a harvest of wheat and weeds and spoke of the end in general as a harvest. Nothing new here.

It does mention that they are not defiled with women and are virgins. As I see it, it sort of indicates that they are so consumed in serving the interests of Christ that they do not bother with the distractions of marriage. Keep in mind that women will inherit God's kingdom as well, so we can't take this too literally. Needless, to say, these are the most dedicated of mankind to God and the Lamb, which may have something to do with why they are in heaven rather than remaining on earth in the great crowd. They are without blemish, spotless, innocent, without guile or guilt, relatively speaking. }]

6 And I saw another angel flying in mid-heaven, having an everlasting gospel to proclaim to those dwelling on the earth, even to every nation and tribe and tongue and people,
7 saying in a great voice, Fear God, and give glory to Him, because the hour of His judgment has come; also, Worship "Him who has made the heaven, and the earth, and the sea," and the fountains of waters. [Ex. 20:11]

[{ I wonder if this angel could be a "spirit", a message sent out to those in the earth, perhaps delivered by God's people, urging them all, even at this last minute, to repent and turn to Christ. I do not know for sure but it was a thought. }]

8 And another angel followed, saying, The great city, Babylon, has fallen, has fallen; because of the wine of the anger of her fornication, she made all nations to drink.

[{ Here is mentioned again "the great city." She is introduced as being Babylon the Great. We will learn more of her soon. Next comes a very severe warning not to worship the beast or its image or to receive its mark or you will die for sure. }]

9 And a third angel followed them, saying in a great voice, If anyone worships the beast and its image, and receives a mark on his forehead, or in his hand,
10 he also shall drink of the wine of the anger of God having been mixed undiluted in the cup of His wrath. And he will be tormented by fire and brimstone before the holy angels and before the Lamb.
11 And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever. And those worshiping the beast and its image have no rest night and day, even if anyone receives the mark of its name.

Consider this scripture:
Isaiah 34:8 For the day of vengeance is to Jehovah, the year of repayments for Zion's cause. 9 And its torrents shall be turned to pitch, and its dust to brimstone; and its land shall become burning pitch. 10 It shall not be put out night or day; its smoke shall rise forever. From generation to generation, it shall lie waste; no one shall pass through it forever and forever.

[{ Some consider 10 and 11 to be literal descriptions. But I believe like Isaiah, it is figurative and as we shall see in Rev. 20:14, John tells us it is symbolic of the 2nd death, a death from which there is no return ever. It is absolutely permanent. God will not change His mind ever. This is a very important message for there are a few rare so called "Christian" religions that teach that everyone will be saved sooner or later, in claimed successive judgments. The International Bible Students, found by a Charles Taze Russell (died in 1916), to this day preached and believes this. I have come across this doctrine in on or two other groups I can not recall.

But it is a lying deceitful doctrine for the Bible says there is just one time to accept salvation or you will die and stay dead forever. There will not be a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th chance if you pass on the 1st. Some would have you believe that you can pass at first and join later. Anyone doing that will be throwing away their lives forever. So it is important for people to understand that they have just one chance to get with it or else. Isaiah 34 and Revelation 12 make that clear. }]

12 Here is the patience of the saints; here are the ones keeping the commands of God, and the faith of Jesus.
13 And I heard a voice out of Heaven saying to me, Write: Blessed are the dead, the ones dying in the Lord from now. Yes, says the Spirit, they shall rest from their labors, and their works follow with them.

[{ Again, some comfort for those who are about to have to die for God and it is likely that it will be a significant and noteworthy number given how it is next described. And while we are at it, lets summarize where we are here. Remember the 4 angels holding the winds back? Here we are again with the winds about to be let loose and the servants of God labeled/ marked and the servants of the beast and the devil are, too. Anyone dying at this point is rewarded with serving as a king and priest if they want it. Martyrdom is an automatic pass to the exclusive club upstairs, so to speak. }]

14 And I saw; and behold, a white cloud and on the cloud One sitting, like the Son of man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle.
15 And another angel went forth out of the temple, crying in a great voice to the One sitting on the cloud, Send Your sickle and reap, because Your hour to reap came, because the harvest of the earth was dried.
16 And the One sitting on the cloud thrust His sickle onto the earth, and the earth was reaped.

[{ Now an important event. The first harvest is done by Jesus who harvests the earth that is ripe for the harvest. The first fruits of the harvest, so to speak. Some Christians are expected to die during this time because of the beast. They are the harvest, the first fruits to Jesus and to his Father. They are among the number that will fulfill the 144,000 that has been waiting to be fulfilled.

We have heard of the harvest before. Jesus spoke of a harvest of wheat and weeds to be gathered. It is a common illustration. So we should be familiar with this type of illustration and readily recognize it. This is the last time that God's people shall have to die at the hands of persecutors anymore. Now it will be the persecutor's turn as God goes after them next. }]

17 And another angel went forth out of the temple in Heaven, he also having a sharp sickle.
18 And another angel went forth out of the altar having authority over the fire. And he spoke with a great cry to the one having the sharp sickle, saying, Send your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth, because its grapes are ripened.
19 And the angel thrust his sickle into the earth and gathered the vine of the earth, and threw into the winepress of the great anger of God.
20 And the winepress was trodden outside the city, and blood went out of the winepress as far as the bridles of the horses, from a thousand six hundred stadia.

[{ Now here is the harvest you do not want to be a part of. Those who have attacked God's people or have the mark of the beast must experience the wrath of God's anger, the winepress of His great anger. The blood shed is so bad that it flows up to a horse's mouth in height/ depth for 1600 stadia which is about 3200 football fields. Yeah, that is a lot of blood being squeezed from the grapes of God's wrath. We will be told more about this in the next chapter. Needless to say, you do not want to be one of God's enemies.

This juncture seems to be just before the martyrdom and imprisonment of Christians is about to take place., and then the harvest begins. So it covers possibly 3.5 years, from just before to jus after the 2nd/last 3.5 year period. }]

Chapter 15  -  7 Plagues/Bowls of Anger   -   Say hello to my 7 little friends!

[{ Let me set this up a little. The 6th trumpet has blown and the 4 winds are let loose. All hell breaks loose. Some of God's people are about to die. And in return, 7 angels will pour out 7 plagues, bowls of anger, on those who have shown themselves to be haters of God who kill those speaking His words. }]

1 And I saw another sign in Heaven, great and marvelous: seven angels having the last seven plagues, because the anger of God was completed in them.

2 And I saw, as a glassy sea having been mixed with fire. And the ones overcoming the beast, and its image, and its mark, of the number of its name, were standing on the glassy sea, having harps of God.
3 And they sing the song of Moses the slave of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty, righteous and true are Your ways, King of the saints.
4 Who will not fear You, Lord, and glorify Your name? For You only are holy. For all the nations will come and will worship before You, because Your righteousnesses were made known.
5 And after these things I saw; and behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in Heaven was opened!

[{ Jesus having just harvested a good many Christians from the earth, due to their being killed by Satan's seed, has had it with Satan and his seed. So now follows the great anger of God which will be completed with the anger in this chapter that is further described in the next chapter or 2 as well. Jesus has taken all he is going to take. Now to spill the blood of those who spilled the blood of the saints.

I also want to point out that these who died in Christ, did not do anything bad to deserve death. It gives you an idea of just how far gone the world has gotten at this point. Complete madness has set it and decency is nowhere to be found. So now is the time to put the world and those in it, out of their misery. That is why if one does not stand for God, then one is considered an accomplice of some very nasty evil people. To go along with them in their evil deeds is no small thing. So trying to straddle the fence here at this time won't work. Jesus will not put up with it. He demands that everyone cease even cooperating with evil and actively join God or die.

And we can be assured that God's people who are still living, a great crowd, have been imprisoned and are sort of kept safe while a lot of things take place. At this point, all hell will finally break loose. }]

6 And the seven angels having the seven plagues came forth out of the temple, having been clothed in clean and bright linen, and golden bands having been girded around the breasts.
7 And one of the four living creatures gave to the seven angels seven golden bowls filled with the anger of God living forever and ever.
8 And the temple was filled with the smoke of the glory of God, and with His power. And no one was able to enter into the temple until the seven plagues of the seven angels should be completed.

[{ This is pretty much the end for the worries of God's people. Now it will be paying all those tormentors back for their evil and uncalled for attacks on innocent people belonging to God. But note that it is God who pays them back and not God's people. God's people are always to remain innocent and blood free. }]

Chapter 16  -  7 Bowls of Anger Unleashed   -   God's Vengeance coming. Be awake and ready!

1 And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels: Go and pour out the bowls of the anger of God onto the earth.
2 And the first went away and poured out his bowl onto the earth. And it became a bad and evil sore onto the men, the ones having the mark of the beast, and the ones worshiping its image.
3 And the second angel poured out his bowl onto the sea. And it became blood, as of a dead one, and every soul of life died in the sea.
4 And the third angel poured out his bowl onto the rivers, and onto the fountains of the waters; and it became blood.
5 And I heard the angel of the waters saying, You are righteous, Lord, the One who is, and who was, and who will be, because You judged these things,
6 since they poured out the blood of the saints and of the prophets; and You gave blood to them to drink, for they were deserving.
7 And I heard another out of the altar saying, Yes, Lord God Almighty, Your judgments are true and righteous.

[{ All those on earth at this time share part of the responsibility for the blood/death of the saints and prophets and are given blood to drink as punishment. Blood they spilled so blood they will drink. Blood is a poor substitute for water when your thirsty. They will get what they have dished out to others who were innocent. }]

8 And the fourth angel poured out his bowl onto the sun. And it was given to him to burn men with fire.
9 And men were burned with great heat. And they blasphemed the name of God, the One having authority over these plagues and they did not repent to give Him glory.
10 And the fifth angel poured out his bowl onto the throne of the beast. And its kingdom became darkened; and they gnawed their tongues from the pain.
11 And they blasphemed the God of Heaven, from their pains and from their sores. And they did not repent of their works.

[{ Note that when they receive their plagues, they do not repent, they are not sorry. That is why they were destroyed. They act just like Pharaoh did with Moses. Had they been of a different heart, they would have joined the Christians rather than killed them. Paul spoke of this exact time in the following:

1 Thessalonians 5:
1  But concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need for it to be written.
2  For you yourselves know accurately the day of the Lord comes as a thief in the night.
3  For when they say, Peace and safety! Then suddenly destruction comes upon them, like travail to the pregnant woman, and they shall not at all escape.
4  But you, brothers, are not in darkness, that the Day should overtake you as a thief.

While Christians are kept safe, albeit, in bonds, so to speak, and everyone in the world has celebrated our demise and cried peace and safety/security, they soon run into big trouble. Lots of death and dying happen on a scale never seen before. The angel says they deserve it. }]

12 And the sixth angel poured out his bowl onto the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up so that might be prepared the way of the kings from the rising of the sun.
13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
14 For they are spirits of demons doing signs, which go forth to the kings of the earth, even of the whole habitable world to assemble them to the war of that day, the great day of God Almighty.

[{ The 6th angel is a most interesting one. First, the waters of the great figurative river Euphrates, the name of the river in literal Babylon, is dried up, preparing for her destruction in the same way that literal Babylon had originally suffered at the hands of Cyrus of Persia.

Also the dragon, the beast, and the false prophet speak and from their mouths come out unclean spirits that have a purpose, namely to gather the kings of the earth to war against God, of course, by fighting with His people who are left on the earth, that great crowd which no man was able to number that come out of the great tribulation according to chapter 7. And let me tell you, this is definitely the great tribulation if ever there was one.

And yet another warning to us who might be living at this time in verse 15. }]

15 Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is the one watching and keeping his garments, that he does not walk naked, and they may see his shame.
16 And He assembled them in the place having been called in Hebrew, Armageddon.
17 And the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a great voice came from the throne from the temple of Heaven, saying, It has happened!
18 And voices and thunders and lightnings occurred. And a great earthquake occurred, such as did not occur since man came into being on the earth, such a huge earthquake, so great!

[{ I am assuming that this great earthquake, the greatest since man was created, is of a political nature or upheaval, that is, a symbolic earthquake. That does not mean it may not be literal as well, but I think it more likely that it is symbolic as most of Revelation is. And never has there been such a political upheaval as this one. It will really get everyone's attention in a big way. But we have not been told much about this event . . . yet!

Keep in mind that this 7th bowl of anger, the last bowl of anger, actually happens before the 7th trumpet of earlier (chap. 11) is blown to finish the mystery of God. }]

19 And the great city came to be into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And Babylon the great was remembered before God, to give to her the cup of the wine of the anger of His wrath.

[{"The great city," old Babylon the Great, is mentioned yet again, splitting into 3 parts and the cities of the nations falling as well. Time for Babylon to get her due. This is the big one, boys! Babylon's punishment is the fulfillment of the 7th bowl of anger. The next chapter shall tell us more about that fulfillment. This vision ends with a bang next. A nasty hail of a very large size rains down on the earth and of course, men curse God for it all. Never mind that they asked for it. }]

20 And every island fled away, and mountains were not found.
21 And a great hail, as the size of a talent, came down out of the heaven upon men. And men blasphemed God from the plague of the hail, because its plague is exceedingly great.

[{ This is the very end being carried out. Everyone is being judged for the evil they committed. God has had enough of them and is ending it all right now. But we have some more info we need on the details of some of these events. }]

Chapter 17  -  The Great Harlot Babylon - Judged!

[{ A lot of details about Babylon are given here to help figure out who she is and what is to happen to her and in what manner. It is odd that many details are given in reverse order saving the most important details for last rather than first. Probably done to make interpretation just that much harder so that skeptics would never bother to interpret.

It would be nice to be able to easily identify her but then she would recognize herself being named and would ban the Bible. So God had to try to tell us who she is without being too obvious. So we are going to have to work hard to figure this out.

But I want to point out that Babylon is not the beast, it is not the false prophet, certainly not an image or idol. I have written an entire article on her. But she is an eternal enemy of God and His people  and has been causing trouble for a long time. She is the instigator of much that happens to us. So God felt we should know about her. }]

1 And one of the seven angels having the seven bowls came and spoke with me, saying to me, Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot sitting on the many waters,
2 with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the ones inhabiting the earth became drunk from the wine of her fornication.

[{ Israel and Judah were often referred to as being unfaithful fornicators with the nations so it would be like that with "Babylon." Babylon is a "she" who acts like a whore with the nations and kings of the world, using them to "get her way." And the nations and kings are drunk with her "wine,"  the blood of the saints. }]

3 And he carried me away into a desert, by the Spirit. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast, filled with names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
4 And the woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and being gilded with gold and precious stone and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand, filled with abominations and unclean things of her fornication.
5 And on her forehead was a name having been written: Mystery, Babylon the Great, the Mother of the Harlots and of the Abominations of the Earth.
6 And I saw the woman being drunk from the blood of the saints, and from the blood of the witnesses of Jesus. And I marveled, seeing her with a great marveling.
7 And the angel said to me, Why did you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman, and of the beast supporting her, the one having the seven heads and the ten horns.

[{ Ah, a beast with 7 heads and 10 horns and names of blasphemy. Now where have I heard that before? The woman is clothed like royalty in purple and scarlet red, gold, decked right out. But since an angel is going to interpret this, I'll let him handle it and talk more after. Note that she is drunk with the blood of the saints, God's people and prophets. She gets the nations drunk, too, earlier in verse 17:2.

Recall in the 4th century how Constantine, the Roman Emperor and not a Christian, even in name, till his deathbed baptism, drew about half of so called Christianity to him to help him fight his wars, and secure his power and throne. In return, he favored the half of Christianity who joined him with absolute power so that they could use military, police, and political power and might to force all Christians to adhere to the same doctrines and ideas as they do. And they could force all the churches to accept the authority of a few to control everyone. This forced unity and control was very advantageous to the Roman Emperor and which in time, would become the exclusive province of the eventual Pope. King and clergy would work together and help each other maintain their power, control, and wealth made from the people.

Phony Christianity became enslaved to do the bidding of the state and not God. It has been going on ever since, even to this very day. Christians were told by Jesus and the Apostles that the only "force" they could use to enforce the rules was to shun people and avoid them if they would not listen to the church leadership and its members. They did not have any right or authorization to use political military force or violence.

Ever since the 4th century, a number of little movements have stood up and pointed out how "Christians" were not obeying the word of God in various areas. These little groups were viciously and brutally persecuted and wiped out. Most of these began in the early middle ages and continued till Martin Luther, when someone somewhere understood that it would be to their advantage to protect and promote Martin Luther in order to weaken the Catholic Church and the Pope as a competing power to them.

Brains and independent intelligence has always been the greatest threat to abusive unprincipled power, Without principle, one must rely on brutal force for control and obedience. For what people would be dumb enough to rebel against their won welfare, if that was really what the state was protecting. So when someone stood up to enlighten the people, governments and religious authority would standup quickly to wipe the big mouth / big brain out.

So kings and bishops have been in bed together for quite some time. But another whore comes along to challenge the Roman Catholic Church and take her power away from her. This one hates Christianity and wants it out of the way. So finding out who this whore is, is important. In addition, the printing press came along by this time and was employed. From then on, these little "return to the Bible" groups would no longer be completely wiped out and would grow in numbers, although they would often give out in later years and join the mainstream, not being faithful to the original love and passion shown by the founders of their movements.

So we have a long line of political powers using Christians in their wars, where so many perished for something which was never a concern of God and His kingdom. We have many good movements who wanted to return to the Bible and perished. Most of Christianity today still remains in blindness, completely controlled by the system and in alienation from God, political whores and tramps. But along the way, a whore come along who saw these protestant movements as a way to take a chunk out of the power of the Catholic Church, who was nothing but a whore herself for so many years. So the whore began to help promote the message of the protestants, when formerly she let these faithful servants of God die at the hands of the Catholic whore.

So the many wars, all of which were to further the power of someone somewhere, shed enormous amounts of blood, no small amount of which was "Christian," at least in name. And the false shepherds continue to encourage them to go to war and serve the devil and his interests and die. So we can see the obvious fulfillment of this chapter in history. }]

8 The beast which you saw was, and is not, and is about to come up out of the abyss, and goes to perdition. And those dwelling on the earth will marvel, the ones whose names have not been written on the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, seeing the beast, that it was a thing, and is not, yet now is.

[{ This is a curious aspect of the beast, in that the beast would exist and then cease to exist, and then later would come into existence again. This sounds like it might be the United Nations which existed first as the League of Nations, then ceased to exist during hostilities and then came back to life after WWII. That's my guess. }]

9 Here is the mind having wisdom: the seven heads are seven mountains, where the woman sits on them.

[{ Hard to know if the mountains are symbolic or literal. I say, like nearly everything else in prophecy, symbolic. Even Babylon is called a mountain in Jeremiah which we will get to. The woman sitting on them obviously is symbolic. I wish I knew my geography better. But I assume that the 7 mountains are accounted as follows: }]

10 And the kings are seven. The five fell, and the one is, and the other has not yet come. And when he does come, he must remain a little.

[{ Rome was the empire in existence when John wrote. Another was due to come some time later and must remain a little while. That little while is 42 months in chapter 11. I would say the USA is the most likely candidate for this empire. When Daniel 2 and Daniel 7 are considered, it seems certain. The 5 that had fallen previously were the procession of powers that took place in that area of the world: Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medo-Persia, and Greece. }]

11 And the beast which was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goes to perdition.

[{ The UN is the 8th and is of the 7, which would include the USA. That is, of course, if I am right in my interpretation. }]

12 And the ten horns you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but will receive authority as kings one hour with the beast.

[{ Some members of the UN are maybe going to join in the fun, eh? }]

13 These have one mind, and their power and authority they shall give up to the beast.

[{ Will the USA give up its authority to the UN? We shall see. }]

14 These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and the ones with Him are the called and elect and faithful ones.

[{ They will launch one last great final attack on those who remain of Christ. And they will fail miserably, of course. I believe this was done with the executions and imprisonment of the rest. It is already done at this point. }]

15 And he says to me, The waters which you saw, where the harlot sits, are peoples and crowds and nations and tongues.
16 And the ten horns which you saw on the beast, these will hate the harlot, and will make her desolated and naked. And they will eat her flesh, and will burn her down with fire.

[{ These 10 horns are not the same as, say, the 10 horns of Daniel's beast in chap. 7, although they are not much different, either. They symbolize different nations and circumstances. But they do share a common goal and relation, in that they are all enemies of God and his people. These nations which this whore has used and depended on, end up turning on her, much to her shock. She never saw it coming. Her confidence, pride, cockiness, conceit, and arrogance blinded her to it all. }]

17 For God gave into their hearts to do His mind, and to act in one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.

18 And the woman whom you saw is the great city, having a kingdom over the kings of the earth.

[{ Here is the amazing irony. 18 tells us the great city has a kingdom over the kings of the earth. Yet out of these kings is likely to come 10, at least symbolically, who join the beast, itself a group of allied nations, to destroy the harlot with the greatest of severity. They will also attempt to attack God's people after they are let loose, but this will fail. I believe this is described in Ezekiel 38, Daniel 7, and Zechariah 14.

Remember that it was told to us that the harlot, Babylon, was drunk with the blood of saints and prophets, she was the killer of them or responsible for others killing them and that their bodies were on her streets unburied for 3 and a half days. Babylon often gets others to do her dirty work.  But God shall repay her. These descriptions along with the others given by John should help us to know who the harlot might be.

There are yet a few things more we need to know about her that are revealed in the next chapter, 18. }]

Chapter 18  -  God Executes Babylon

1 And after these things I saw another angel coming down out of Heaven having great authority, and the earth was lighted up from his glory.
2 And he cried in a strong, great voice, saying, Babylon the great has fallen! It has fallen, and it has become a dwelling-place of demons, and a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean bird, even having been hated,
3 because of the wine of the anger of her fornication which all the nations have drunk, even the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her; and the merchants of the earth became rich from the power of her luxury.
4 And I heard another voice out of Heaven saying, My people, come out of her, that you may not share in her sins, and that you may not receive of her plagues;
5 because her sins joined together, even up to Heaven
, and God remembered her unjust deeds.

alternate translation from (RSV)
5 for her sins are heaped high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.

[{ Babylon's sins have piled up or been joined together so that they have reached clear up to heaven, figuratively speaking. Anyone having very much to do with Babylon may also be in trouble. }]

6 Give back to her as also she gave back to you, and double to her double, according to her works. In the cup which she mixed, mix to her double.
7 By what things she glorified herself, and luxuriated, by so much give back to her torment and mourning. Because she says in her heart, I sit as a queen, and I am not a widow; and I do not see mourning at all.

[{ In the same degree that Babylon has enjoyed the privileged life of luxury and ease, to this degree she shall experience very harsh severe punishment, only twice as much so. She used her position to try to get God's people and she did get some of them. But the "10" nations shall get her and far worse then she got others. It will be very swift, certain, and severe. }]

8 Because of this, in one day her plagues shall come: death, and mourning, and famine; and she will be consumed with fire, for the Lord God judging her is strong.

[{ The old whore's going to be judged with lightning speed and severity. But her attitude prior to that is one of great arrogance, cockiness, and pride. Hence her name Babylon the Great. it was Nebuchadnezzer in who proudly, arrogantly, defiantly said
Daniel 4:30 ďIs not, this, Babylon the great, which, I myself, have built as the home of the kingdom, by the might of my power, and for the dignity of my majesty?Ē
just before God struck him down. So I say this mystery or riddle or the name Babylon the Great is understood when we grasp the arrogance, cockiness, and pride of this whore who hates God's people. She believes she is untouchable and absolutely secure, just before God crushes her. I quoted Daniel 4:30 from Rotherham's Translation.

And she will be paid back, for in her all the blood of the prophets, apostles, and saints, and all the earth lies, as we shall see in verse 24. Christians are warned to get out of her and have nothing to do with her if you do not want to share in her sins and her plagues which will be most severe. I assume by getting out of her, the Bible means, get out of bed, so to speak. Cease the cozy relationships with her. Do not be having immoral "relations" with her. Do not be kissing up to her. Her lovers will be judged as she is. }]

9 And the kings of the earth will weep for her, and will wail over her, those having fornicated and having luxuriated with her, when they see the smoke of her burning;
10 standing from afar because of the fear of her torment, saying, Woe! Woe to the great city, Babylon, the strong city! For in one hour your judgment came.

[{ I guess some nations will miss her who were in bed with her. Business men will weep over her loss but they will be careful not to show much sorrow for her out of fear. Babylon generated much more trade than would have been the case had she not existed, I suspect. Many did well by her but not one of them is written in the book of life. }]

11 And the merchants of the earth weep and mourn over her, because no one buys their cargo any more,
12 cargo of gold, and silver, and of precious stone, and of pearls, and of fine linen, and of purple, and of silk, and of scarlet, and all thyine wood, and every ivory vessel, and every vessel of very precious wood, and of bronze, and of iron, and of marble,
13 and cinnamon, and incenses, and ointment, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine meal, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and of bodies and souls of men.
14 And the ripe fruits of the lust of your soul went away from you, and all the fat things, and the bright things went away from you, and you will find them no more, not at all.

15 The merchants of these things, the ones being enriched from her, will stand from afar because of the fear of her torment, weeping and mourning;
16 and saying, Woe! Woe to the great city having been clothed in linen and purple and scarlet, and having been gilded with gold and precious stone, and pearls!
17 For in one hour such great wealth was desolated. And every ship-pilot and all company on the ships, and sailors, and as many as work the sea, stood from afar,
18 and cried out, seeing the smoke of her burning, saying, What is like the great city?
19 And they threw dust on their heads, and cried out, weeping and mourning, saying, Woe! Woe to the great city, by which all those having ships in the sea were rich, from her costliness, because in one hour she was ruined.

[{ Babylon was a fabulously wealthy luxuriant city and the business world seemed to thrive with her and profit immensely from her fornications and other activity. The business aspect is given a lot of attention. So Babylon's power must be extensive since she has so much influence in both business and politics. Interesting to say the least. The business world certainly mourns her passing and loss. All that wealth and organization around it is gone. What a loss.

But you know, When you think about it, how do you gain influence and power with politicians? You buy or bribe them, right? So while Babsy might have political influence, I would suggest that she gets it partially by means of money. She must have a very close cozy relationship with business and finance as well. Why else would they be so broken heated over her loss? }]

20 Rejoice over her, Heaven, and the holy apostles, and the prophets, because God judged your judgment on her.

21 And one strong angel lifted a stone like a great millstone, and threw it into the sea, saying, This way, on a violent impulse, Babylon the great city will be thrown down, and it will never more still be found.
22 And the sound of harpers, and of musicians, and flutists, and of trumpeters will never more be heard in you. And every craftsman of every craft will never more be found in you. And the sound of a mill will never more be heard in you.
23 And the light of a lamp will never more shine in you. And the voice of the bridegroom and bride will never more be heard in you. For your merchants were the great ones of the earth, for by your sorcery all the nations were misled.
24 And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all the ones having been slain on the earth.

[{ Babylon has not been a nice harlot. She has been a bitch and shall get her reward. She is responsible for nearly all the blood shed on the earth. Quite a claim! But her accuser is faithful and true. So we can believe it is true.

I have to say that it is not well known, at least in official circles, who this fornicator who has a kingdom over the nations and is so blood guilty could be. Her kingdom must be somewhat secret or subtly controlled rather than be out in the open. Clandestine like, secretive, veiled! Same for her blood guilt, it being subtle and not easily discerned.

As to who this Babylon the Great is, well, I believe each one should be able to discern for themselves. There are many clues to put together here but I believe who she is will only be obvious to those who are not asleep and see what is clearly going on in the world and behind the scenes. They will likely recognize her.

But as for those who are asleep or do not care, they could not see even if you told them. So why bother. So let those who are asleep, continue to be asleep. Let those who have ears, listen to what the Spirit says to the churches.

One thing for sure, when God's people are viciously and needlessly attack, we shall certainly know then who Babylon the Great truly is. Although she might not be the direct killer, she will be the motivation behind the attack, just as was the case with Jesus when his people used Rome and Pilate to have Jesus done away with. Though Rome was the instrument, it was the leaders of Jerusalem at that time who pushed Rome to do so.

If God's spirit is leading us, then we should come to the same answer without saying a thing to each other. Let us see who is led and who is not. }]

Chapter 19  -  Heaven Rejoices in Vengeance   -   The beast and false prophet thrown into the Lake of Fire
Back to Top

[{ Chap. 19 is a continuation of chap. 16, or more, a wrap up of chaps. 16-18. This is a wrap up of unfinished business. Every last remnant of enemies of God, small and great, are eliminated. The beast and false prophet are thrown into the lake of fire and Christ emerges supreme, eliminating the imposter false prophet. Armageddon is completed. The mystery of God is finished. The worst is over. Now life can become everything it was meant to be. It certainly was not, the first time around, right? }]

1 And after these things, I heard a great voice of a numerous crowd in Heaven, saying, Hallelujah! The salvation and the glory and the honor and the power of the Lord our God!
2 For true and righteous are His judgments, because He judged the great harlot who defiled the earth with her fornication. And He avenged the blood of His slaves out of her hand.

[{ No more will God's people be tormented, persecuted, or killed by "Babylon." They have been avenged by their God and His judgments are fair, righteous, and true. }]

3 And secondly they said, Hallelujah! Also her smoke goes up forever and ever.
4 And the twenty four elders, and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God sitting on the throne, saying, Amen! Hallelujah!
5 And a voice came out from the throne, saying, Praise our God, all His slaves, and the ones fearing Him, the small and the great.
6 And I heard as a sound of a numerous crowd, and as a sound of many waters, and as a sound of strong thunders, saying, Hallelujah! Because the Lord God Almighty reigned.
7 Let us rejoice and let us exult, and we will give glory to Him, because the marriage of the Lamb came, and His wife prepared herself.
8 And it was given to her that she be clothed in fine linen, pure and bright; for the fine linen is the righteousnesses of the saints.
9 And he says to me, Write: Blessed are the ones having been called to the supper of the marriage of the Lamb. And he says to me, These words of God are true.

[{ Here is mentioned the bride of the Lamb clothed in fine linen which stands for the righteousness of the saints. This is the 144,000 mentioned in chapters 7 and 14 who will reign with Jesus as kings and priests over the earth.

And in addition to this figurative bride made up of the saints, the 1st fruits of the harvest, there are also ones who have been called to the supper of this marriage. These are the great crowd mentioned in chapter 7 who make it through the tribulation. Blessed indeed, is anyone who managed to make it this far.

May I add at this time that "saints" as it has been used in Green's Literal Translation here denotes God's people. They are not some special elevated class such as those of the Catholic church who are called Saints. It is defined in Strong's dictionary as follows:

hagios hag'-ee-os; from agov hagos (an awful thing) [compare 53, 2282];
sacred (
physically, pure, morally blameless or religious, ceremonially, consecrated):-- (most) holy (one, thing), saint.

This is how God's people are viewed by Him. }]

10 And I fell before his feet to worship him, but he said to me, Behold! Stop! I am a fellow-slave of yours, and of your brothers, having the testimony of Jesus. Worship God. For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

11 And I saw Heaven being opened. And, behold! A white horse, and He sitting on it having been called Faithful and True. And He judges and wars in righteousness.
12 And His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head many diadems, having a name that had been written, which no one knows except Himself;
13 and having been clothed in a garment which had been dipped in blood. And His name is called The Word of God.
14 And the armies in Heaven followed Him on white horses, being dressed in fine linen, white and pure.
15 And out of His mouth goes forth a sharp sword, that with it He might smite the nations. And He will shepherd them with an iron rod. And He treads the winepress of the wine of the anger and of the wrath of God Almighty.
16 And He has on His garment and on His thigh a name having been written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

[{ Here it is made clear that Jesus smites the nations, treads the winepress of anger, etc. He does many things as is evident here. And it is the same description as the rider on a white horse in chapter 6 as well, in case some doubt my interpretation. }]

17 And I saw one angel standing in the sun. And he cried with a great voice, saying to all the birds flying in mid-heaven, Come and gather together to the supper of the great God,
18 that you may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of commanders, and the flesh of strong ones, and the flesh of horses, and of the ones sitting on them, and the flesh of all, both freemen and slaves, even of the small and great.

19 And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth, and their armies being assembled to make war with the One sitting on the horse, and with His army.
20 And the beast was seized, and with this one the false prophet doing signs before it, by which he led astray those having received the mark of the beast, and those worshiping its image. The two were thrown alive into the Lake of Fire burning with brimstone.
21 And the rest were killed with the sword of the One sitting on the horse, it having gone out of His mouth. And all the birds were filled from their flesh.

[{ As I said before, this is the 7th trumpet blast, the finishing of the mystery of God. I believe this coincides with Ezekiel's visions of chapters 37 & 38 and Zechariah 14. The birds of heaven do a cleaning work, so to speak. What follows in chapter 20 is what takes place after the old world and order has been done away with and the mystery of God finished. It is a mystery no longer!

Now this is the end of this system, this age, Armageddon. But we still have a thousand year reign to follow and a resurrection of the "unrighteous" as well as the righteous, so that all may have a chance, an opportunity, to attain perfection and be tested to see if they remain faithful as having had ample opportunity to attain purity, perfection, completion. Those who do not fall the the devil's last temptation shall then live forever. Just look and see next. }]

Chapter 20  -  The Thousand Year Rehabilitation   -   Our first real chance for a great life as it was meant to be!

1 And I saw an angel coming down out of Heaven, having the key of the abyss, and a great chain on his hand.
2 And he laid hold of the dragon, the old serpent who is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
3 and threw him into the abyss, and shut him up, and sealed over him, that he should not still lead astray the nations, until the thousand years are fulfilled. And after these things, he must be set loose a little time.

[{ You remember the angel of the abyss who let the locusts out? Now he is throwing Satan into the abyss for 1,000 years. Jesus is the one to deal with Satan so we can deduce that he is the angel of the abyss and king of the locusts we read about earlier. This period without Satan is commonly known as the thousand year reign. Satan is not, however, thrown into the lake of fire where the beast, false prophet, and Babylon the Great were thrown. Satan will be let loose again after 1,000 years. }]

4 And I saw thrones, and they sat on them. And judgment was given to them, and the souls of the ones having been beheaded because of the witness of Jesus, and because of the Word of God, and who had not worshiped the beast nor its image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand. And they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were ended. This is the first resurrection.
6 Blessed and holy is the one having part in the first resurrection. The second death has no authority over these, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and will reign with Him a thousand years.

[{ I thought the following were appropriate accounts to show correct doctrine which helps to understand what takes place during this thousand years. }]

Daniel 12: 2 And many of those sleeping in the earth's dust shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to reproaches and to everlasting abhorrence.

John 5:
28  Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming in which all those in the tombs will hear His voice.
29  And they will come out, the ones having done good into a resurrection of life; and the ones having practiced evil into a resurrection of judgment.

Acts 24:
14  But this I admit to you, that according to the Way, which they call a sect, I worship the God of our fathers, believing everything laid down by the law or written in the prophets,
15  having a hope in God which these themselves accept, that there will be a resurrection of both the just and the unjust.

[{ Those who died in Christ due to persecution, among other things, live and reign with Christ during this 1,000 years. They are the 144,000. This is the first resurrection. The rest of the so called "dead" will not be considered living until they have passed the final test as we shall see. The 2nd death awaits those who do not pass this test.

Those of the 1st resurrection have already passed the test and will not be tested again. They are pronounced as living and will live forever in heaven. On the other hand, there are those who lived in other times of past ages when God was not active in most of the earth. Many are resurrected who did not prove themselves but are given a chance to do so now in the thousand year opportunity. And those who made it through the tribulation. They may or may not have to prove themselves but they will be there, too. But they all have 1,000 years to learn, without distraction, lies, or chaos and sin. If they apply themselves, then they should have no problem passing Satan's last test after the 1,000 years. I will deal with this more in this section. }]

7 And whenever the thousand years are ended, Satan will be set loose out of his prison,
8 and he will go to mislead the nations in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to assemble them in war, whose number is as the sand of the sea.
9 And they went up over the breadth of the land and encircled the camp of the saints, and the beloved city. And fire from God came down out of Heaven and burned them down.

[{ After the 1,000 years, Satan is allowed to test those on earth to see if they truly learned and took advantage of the opportunity given them, even as Adam and Eve first had been tested but failed.

Sadly, most of the earth did not learn and still ends up being misled, even as Adam and Eve were and they surround the camp of the holy ones, the saints, those who remain faithful to God and are not misled. I say that most are misled for how else could they surround the camp of the righteous.

But Satan and all his horde, symbolized by Gog and Magog first mentioned in Ezekiel 38, are now finally cast into the lake of fire where so many had already been cast 1,000 years ago. This is the end of this story. Verse 11 kind of starts over again, telling us more about what happened prior to the Devil and his horde being destroyed. }]

10 And the Devil leading them astray was thrown into the Lake of Fire and Brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet were. And they were tormented day and night forever and ever.

11 And I saw a great white throne, and the One sitting on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled; and a place was not found for them.
12 And I saw the dead, the small and the great, standing before God. And books were opened. And another Book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged out of the things written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead in it. And death and Hades gave up the dead in them. And they were each judged according to their works.

[{ The dead, those resurrected into God's kingdom on earth, the resurrection spoken of by Paul as the resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous, with the focus here on the unrighteous, are judged in this 1,000 years by the things they do when given the 2nd chance. Many people are resurrected in this time as verse 13 makes clear. Those who pass the final test prove that their resurrection was not in vain, that it was a resurrection of life. But for those who, after all this opportunity, still joined the devil, it proves to be a resurrection of judgment. }]

14 And death and Hades were thrown into the Lake of Fire. This is the second death.
15 And if anyone was not found having been written in the Book of Life, he was thrown into the Lake of Fire.

[{ Death and Hades are also thrown into the lake of fire, which we are told is symbolic of the 2nd death from which none return. Death will be no more! We need to do things worthy of getting us into the book of life so we don't experience the 2nd death. This is the very final end of all things bad.

Although the 2nd death is where the nations led symbolically by Gog and Magog, die and where some are declared righteous and "living" for having passed the test and remained loyal to God, written into the book of life, it is something that happens 1,000 years after the final trumpet sounds. The events leading up to the final trumpet blast are given a lot of attention since they are described in vague terms so that God's enemies will not detect the message. But the 1,000 years that follow are not so much a mystery. Many will have a chance, the chance, that they never got while born into the sin of Adam and all the misery that went with that.

Yet, sadly, many will not take advantage of that chance and will just coast through and not make any effort or put any effort into really improving themselves and making sense of everything. Nor will God force them to perfect themselves. They must do it of their own accord. They have the chance but must exercise their own effort. Instead, they fall for the same tired old lies and deception that Satan has always used, appealing to our desires. But since God has already shown where disobedience leads to before that 7th trumpet of 1000 years earlier, He is not obligated to allow disobedience again and will not allow things to get out of hand again. It was all shown clearly the 1st time for all time.

When the nations that are misled by Satan encircle the camp of the saints, they shall be destroyed in the 2nd death, never to be seen again. Then shall God's remaining ones on earth live happily ever after, now declared living and faithful, having passed their test in flying colors. This is the vision we see in Revelation 21 & 22 next. }]

Chapter 21  -  A New Heaven & A New Earth!   -   God now resides with men on earth, so to speak.

1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and the sea no longer is.

[{ Verse 1, paraphrased from Isaiah 65 which Peter also quotes in his 2nd letter about a new heavens and new earth, the ultimate reward we all look forward to. }]

2 And I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of Heaven from God, having been prepared as a bride, having been adorned for her Husband.

[{ And the bride mentioned in the last chapter returns. She is called New Jerusalem and she has been mentioned before by Paul at Galatians 4:26 and Hebrews 12:22 and by John in Revelation 3:12 so she should not be a stranger to us. }]

3 And I heard a great voice out of Heaven, saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God with men! And He will tabernacle with them, and they will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God.
4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. And death shall be no longer, nor mourning, nor outcry, nor pain will be any longer; for the first things passed away.
5 And the One sitting on the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And He says to me, Write, because these words are faithful and true.

[{ And God, by means of His son and the bride class of New Jerusalem, will pitch His tent or tabernacle as it is also known among men and dwell with them, figuratively speaking, on the earth. and all the pain, sadness, and misery that ever was, will be gone. That stuff will be behind us, never to return.

We first came across a similar description in Rev. 7 in regards to the great crowd. This is partly why we know they live on earth as it makes clear here anyway as God and New Jerusalem come down and reside with men. }]

6 And He said to me, It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the Ending. To the one thirsting, I will freely give of the fountain of the water of life.
7 The one overcoming will inherit all things, and I will be God to him, and he will be the son to Me.
8 But for the cowardly and unbelieving, and those having become foul, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all the lying ones, their part will be in the Lake burning with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.

[{ A reminder is given to us all yet again to make sure we really take this whole book seriously. If we overcome, we will certainly be richly rewarded but if we are cowardly, unbelieving, or even worse, we shall surely die the 2nd death.

And note that all it takes to displease God is a spirit of cowardice. Cowards are of little use to God or to society. God needs courageous people down here on earth if His plan and vision for humans and the earth is to succeed. Don't be a coward, whatever you do. Show some guts and determination now more than ever. That is what the purpose of this book is all about, really. To let us know we need courage if we are to live.

Much of what follows next is simply very symbolic visions. I do not see that there is a lot of importance in it other than maybe to distract those of impure motive. }]

9 And one of the seven angels came to me, he having the seven bowls being filled with the seven last plagues, and spoke with me, saying, Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.

10 And he carried me in spirit on to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, holy Jerusalem, coming down out of Heaven from God,
11 having the glory of God. And its light was like a very precious stone, as a jasper stone, being clear as crystal,
12 and having a great and high wall, having twelve gates, and twelve angels at the gates and names having been inscribed, which are of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel.
13 From the east, three gates; from the north, three gates; from the south, three gates; and from the west, three gates.
14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

15 And he speaking with me had a golden reed, that he may measure the city, and its gates, and its wall.
16 And the city lies four cornered, even its length as much as the width also. And he measured the city with the reed at twelve thousand stadia; its length and width and height are equal.
17 And he measured its wall, a hundred and forty four cubits, a measure of a man, which is of an angel.
18 And the structure of its wall was jasper; and the city was pure gold, like pure glass.

19 And the foundation of the wall of the city having been adorned with every precious stone: The first foundation, jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald;
20 the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprasus; the eleventh, hyacinth; the twelfth, amethyst.

21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; respectively each one of the gates was of one pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, as transparent glass.
22 And I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty is its temple, even the Lamb.
23 And the city had no need of the sun, nor of the moon, that they might shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it, even its lamp is the Lamb.

[{ The temple is gone as there is no need of it. Jesus has reconciled us to the Father so we have no further need of sacrifice or a priesthood or anything else a temple might have provided.

The city is "illuminated" in a symbolic sense. Our minds are illuminated by God and the Lamb. And verses 24-27 basically tell us that we shall live happily ever after. }]

24 And the nations of the ones saved will walk in its light; and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it.
25 And its gates may not at all be shut by day, for no night will be there.
26 And they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it.
27 And all profaning may not at all enter into it, or any making an abomination or a lie; but only the ones having been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb.

[{ The text in boldface in the next and final chapter in Revelation should be obvious and need no comment. }]

Chapter 22  -  Endure to the End

1 And he showed me a pure river of water of life, bright as crystal, coming forth out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
2 In the midst of its street and of the river, from here and from there, was a tree of life producing twelve fruits: according to one month each yielding its fruit. And the leaves of the tree were for healing of the nations.
3 And every curse will no longer be. And the throne of God and the Lamb will be in it; and His slaves will serve Him.
4 And they will see His face; and His name will be on their foreheads.
5 And night will not be there; and they have no need of a lamp or a light of the sun, because the Lord God will shed light on them. And they shall reign forever and ever.

6 And he said to me, These words are faithful and true. And the Lord God of the holy prophets sent His angel to show His slaves what must happen quickly.
7 Behold, I am coming quickly. Blessed is the one keeping the words of the prophecy of this Book.

8 And I, John, was the one seeing and hearing these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel showing me these things.
9 And he said to me, Behold! Stop! For I am your fellow-slave, and of your brothers the prophets, and of the ones keeping the words of this Book. Do worship to God.

10 And he said to me, Do not seal the words of the prophecy of this Book, because the time is near.
11 The one acting unjustly, let him still act unjustly; and the filthy, let him still be filthy; and the righteous, let him still do righteousness; and the holy, let him still be holy.

12 And, behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to each as his work is.

13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the Ending, the First and the Last.

14 Blessed are the ones doing His commands, that their authority will be over the Tree of Life, and by the gates they may enter into the city.
15 But outside are the dogs and the sorcerers, and the fornicators, and the murderers, and the idolaters, and everyone loving a lie, and making it.

16 I, Jesus, sent My angel to testify these things to you over the churches. I am the Root and Offspring of David, the bright and morning Star.
17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come! And the one hearing, let him say, Come! And the one thirsting, let him come; and the one desiring, let him take of the water of life freely.

18 For I testify together with everyone hearing the words of the prophecy of this Book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add upon him the plagues having been written in this Book.
19 And if anyone takes away from the words of the Book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the Book of Life, and out of the holy city, and of the things having been written in this Book.

20 The One testifying these things says, Yes, I am coming quickly. Amen. Yes, come, Lord Jesus!
21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with all of you. Amen.

[{ Amen!!!

It should be quite apparent by now why this book is so important. A significant number of Christians may have to give up their lives. That is not an easy thing to ask. So we are given plenty of warning of what is about to happen and are given lots of assurance that we will be richly rewarded should we have to die.

And it is made clear that there is a test, a choice, that will be enforced upon all the earth and each of us will have to make that choice. We need to make the right choice to pass that test. All who make the wrong choice will, if not before the last trumpet, then during the last trumpet, die the 2nd death. This warning was made very clear at least 4 times in this book.

So as to be fair, God have given us plenty of warning about this very important time so we have plenty of time to prepare and brace ourselves to make the right choice. So let us make good use of that short remaining time and devote ourselves to Godly knowledge and Godly matters rather than waste our time with material riches that will soon be taken from us and done away with anyway. Nor do we want to be found pursuing the passions and pleasures of the flesh as those are what have helped contribute to the mess here on earth to begin with.

Consider this also. Since all who compromise and join the beast either actively or passively just going along with him, will die the 2nd death. So we do not have a lot of choice. We either die being faithful to God or we die right after as an enemy of God. Of course, we would all like to be those who live through it all but that may not be possible for some of us. So we must decide which side we want to be on when we die. Shall it be with God who can bring us back to life or with Satan where there is no possibility of resurrection ever.

Given the limited number of choices, it seems clear to me the only real option is to remain faithful to God, even if it means our death. We are guaranteed the reward of resurrection and glory. Let's not pass that up when there is no other real option that pays. So get right with God while there may be a short time left. To delay could be foolish and dangerous so close to the end. Make the right choice!!! }]

Final Thoughts

Well, let's face it! This is a very negative and unpleasing interpretation of Revelation and other end time prophets and prophecies, compared to what many have offered. Some say we will all be caught up into the air with God, long before anything really bad happens. It would be nice but it is a lie. We need to prove ourselves. The devil insists! The truth must be told and so I have. It is not pleasant, but neither was it nice when Jesus told his disciples that he must be arrested, tortured, and killed and the disciples scattered. They did not want to hear or accept it. We have their lesson so as not to make that mistake again. We will not be allowed to make that mistake again. We have to get this right this time around.

But that is why God has made it quite clear what to expect and what He expects of us. Death sucks but, we are resurrected shortly after and all our dreams will come true so it is worth the very temporary inconvenience of dying. And while God will be with us forever, it was His will that we be in dependant and be able to carry on with little supervision as we go forth after the 1,000 year reign. If we are not to fall back into the same stupid pattern, then we have to be willing to put effort into life, into our marriages, into our kids and in everything we do. Too many people today do not want to put real effort into anything. God has no use for lazy people. He needs quality material to work with. So we must show we are willing to give it what it needs.

Now as regards this article on Revelation, I need to state emphatically, that one can not fully begin to understand these last days without considering all the prophets together, most particularly Isaiah, Daniel, Ezekiel, and Zechariah, have to be considered along with Revelation. Be aware the God, in an effort to carefully conceal this extensive and very, even extremely, detailed message, had to not only use symbolic figures and language, but he had to split it all up in many pieces and scatter it throughout a number of different writers and prophets, not to mention, a son.

In order to interpret it and understand, we have to reverse that process by bringing all the pieces together and study all the messages carefully, trying to make sense of the symbols and language employed. It take along time and also requires the spirit of God to solve it all. In addition, we need to be able to readjust as we see events unfold and gain experience in our lives which can also help us to make sense of things recorded as we put that experience to use and exercise those minds God gave us as the ultimate gift from Him, a gift which makes us resemble the image of God, if we use it. Our brains and effort, combined with God's spirit, will bring good results for if the method is sound, the results will be, too. If any of the ingredients are missing, the result will be lacking.

Daniel has a lot to say about many of the things also mentioned in Revelation. What is amazing is how much detail is revealed about these events. God went to great work to provide so much. Daniel gives so much detail missing in Revelation and other places. And the opposite is true as well. God wanted us to be well informed. But also realize that great efforts will have to be made to understand it all because God made sure it would not be easy to decode this puzzle. Our expending effort is our way of showing God we are worthy of His spirit and help in understanding His secret message. No effort, no reward! What you sow, you reap.

I feel like my efforts in 2004 to decode this paid off and I think God that I was allowed this understanding. I have seen much progress from then to now. I am no longer the only one sounding this peculiar sort of understanding of Revelation and other prophets, with the sort of tough love warning message for Christians. I have come across 3 other sources who seem to embrace it. I believe as we draw closer, it will become more apparent as to the truth. And it will also become more obvious who the liars are. And whatever symbols and figures might have some uncertainty in them yet, they shall not remain much more.

It is likely a few things will be understood as they happen or a little after but most things will be understood before. It is my opinion that coming to understand these prophecies is a far greater gift than miracles or gifts of the spirit would be. I regret that some do not feel the same way. Further, I hold their miracles with deep suspicion. With something as great as the unfolding purpose and understanding of God plan and purpose, why would someone require more? As Jesus said to Thomas, "Happy are those who do not see (miracles) and yet believe!"

So you will note that I have not put Daniel and Revelation together, though I could. I might at a later time. But I have read and put many things together myself, though not in writing. I challenge you to do the same. When many people offer the same prayers to God, it makes Him all the more willing to answer them. When He sees and hears us all searching the same scriptures together, He is apt to reward us for our effort and bless us with a greater understanding, seeing our actions back our words as evidence of sincerity.

I will be reviewing the Old Testament prophets and updating them. I will revisit the Antichrist and Babylon the Great articles as well. All the Last Day End Times articles will be reviewed and updated. But meanwhile, many hands working on this together would be nice and beneficial. As the days of revealing draw closer, we will see Christians begin to come together. No, they have not done so yet, even though many churches and religions exist. It will become apparent to many of them that something is not right and the truth will become more apparent and then the day will come when Christ will draw his sheep out from the goats. It will happen as he said it would.

I add this one last thing Jesus said.
(BBE) Luke 21: 28  But when these things come about, let your heads be lifted up, because your salvation is near.
(RSV) Luke 21: 28  Now when these things begin to take place, look up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near."

It is not easy to contemplate the horrors to come, to see our jobs disappear, to possibly loose our homes, fall on hard times, loose our money, if we have any in a bank, see the economy take a dive and enter a depression, and everything become chaotic and know it will only get far worse. But surely we must see that unless this happens, we can never get to the promised land, so to speak. In order to be delivered, we have to go through this. We have to do it and get it over with in order to have something much better.

Jesus thought it proper to look up, lift our heads up, as if we were glad to see it coming, for after all, our redemption, our deliverance, has drawn near and our reward close at hand. Isn't this what we wanted? Thank God that it finally got here. About time, don't you think? I'll do whatever I got to, to see it through and get the prize. So don't worry about what you might have to do to get it. Just be sure to get it. Be determined to do whatever it takes!
