I propose that stupidity is, indeed, a sin, the biggest sin, really. Yes, I know, that is a serious charge. But I am going to back it up. I assume that you would agree that laziness and ungratefulness are bad. So we will start with those. I have covered this subject some in other articles, but I want to go a little deeper in this one and get down to some basic human weaknesses I have come to more deeply appreciate, in part by listening to others who also speak in this subject. Iron sharpens iron, right? We all learn from each other.

Stupidity or Ignorance?

First, lets distinguish (or not) what each of these is. I say they are pretty much the same. Ignorance is not knowing something, being uninformed. The result, of course, is that you act stupid, you act contrary to wisdom and intelligence and you do not act in your long term welfare and benefit and likely even hurt those and endanger yourself and maybe even others who share in many of your long term interests such as citizens of a nation share with each other. So really, there is not any real substantial difference between the two. One can deliberately act stupid, or act in a way that they know better than to act, so then some will say it is not ignorance, but ill will or stubbornness. But honestly, if you act wrong or harmful, even though you know you should not, and you do anyway, then how smart are you? That one is not ignorant almost makes it worse.

But often times in law, God's and Man's/Government's law as well, ignorance is no excuse for breaking the law. We are expected to know the law, to make an effort to be informed of the law. Now Governments often make so many laws and constantly change them or update them, that it is hard to keep up with it. As well, often they contradict and violate their own previous legal principles and precedents, making it hard to follow the laws and often, we find out the hard way when we get pulled over for a new infraction because updates to laws are not well publicized, as is likely the intention. But God's law has not changed in nearly 2000 years so keeping up with it is not a big problem.

But in the end, there is little difference in the outcome, between stupidity and ignorance. The real difference is in motivation. A man might act out of bad motivation, like greed, so that he disregards his and his fellow citizens' long term interests and helps bring down society. He is stupid, but he may or many not realize that he is cutting his own throat. Either way, he is a real nuisance. A person of ignorance might act detrimental ways because he does not know better. He is largely unaware of many facts and circumstances. He honestly does not know he is cutting his own throat and endangering his own welfare. But he is still a threat to himself and others and still causes the harm. But I want to focus on so called innocent ignorance, if there really is such a thing. I say there is not.

Innocent Ignorance

We all grow up taking everything around us for granted. Our parents are almost always right in nearly everything in life. We trust them, that they know. It is part programming and part of that for many years, we do not trust our own intellectual powers of discernment so we lean on our parents and it is just easier to do so, rather than give something some thought and research. Thru our parents we learn to try trust religious leaders and political parties, employers, schools, and all sort of authorities and celebrities. We trust most publications like books and newspapers, TV News, etc. We seldom question any of it because of trust. As long as our parents and those near us act reasonably trustworthy, we tend to extend that trust and assume all people mean well.

Now in an idealistic situation from the standpoint of God and His design, the brain starts off in instinct mode, trusting and relying on the parents for guidance and instruction since we are too young and do not know enough to guard against predators, cheats, and cons. A child's best interest will almost always reside with its parents. There are exceptions, but not many, and even in those whose parents abuse some, that still might be better than becoming a slave or sexual servant of another.

But in time, God expects us to gradually develop knowledge and discernment so that in time we will have acquired the intellectual skills to evaluate, weigh, analyze, and make judgments on anything, given enough time and searching things out. That is to say, the instinct of trust is eventually questioned in order to weed out what is right from what is wrong, keeping the good/right things and discarding the bad/wrong things. Just as we learn to walk on our own two feet, we also learn to evaluate and judge, on our own trained powers of intellectual discernment. Becoming an adult means thinking for ourselves, rather than relying upon others who we trust or who are authorities on what they speak of, or at least say they are.

But many remain in intellectual infancy for their entire lives, never learning to stand on their own two intellectual feet of discernment. Paul referred to those who were as needed milk again, rather than the solid food of mature Christians. There are intellectual babies and there are intellectual adults who enjoy eating the solid food of truth and fact. They long ago left infancy behind. Listen, if a baby messes its diaper, its not big deal. They have not had enough time to understand how to care for such things. But imagine a full grown adult who still needs diapers and someone to change the diapers for them. That would be absurd, we can all agree. Yet, someone who has not developed an ounce of brains and thinking power is about the equivalent of a man who still needs his diapers changed.

Are there such people? Oh, I am afraid so. A lot of them! In fact, they make up the majority of any nation. They believe everything the news and government tells them. Now you know where that smell is coming from ;-) And yes, it is as offensive as adult needing a diaper change.

God gave us a miracle. Some don't believe in miracles, but the human brain is certainly a miracle. It starts out relatively empty and then develops or can develop into a mind with brilliant insight and understanding of the world around them and the people in it. And most of it never requires lessons. We learned a language without lessons, without formal schooling, that is. The brain will continue to deduce things for us throughout our lives, if we want it to. We only have to ask it to do something or if we put lots of effort into something, the silent half of our brain will go to work to help us. Its child's play, I swear. But it requires us taking our first baby steps in trying to walk on our own, without mom or dad helping us. Its shaky at first but it becomes more steady and more strong with each passing day.

There is no good reason not to develop some thinking power. There is no excuse for not being curious about the world around us. Nor is there good reason for not noticing that some things do not make sense in our world. We are all born curious about our world we live in. So why does it seem to disappear for many? Let me try this!

While thinking requires effort, it also produces wonderful rewards of insight and understanding. But many only have very basic desires in life. Food and eating, sexual pleasure, social acceptance, a sense of belonging and security, and other basic desires like these. Many also want to avoid any discomfort such as rejection, ostracism, pain, deprivation, fear, or perhaps even exertion and hard work and labor. In short, laziness in the extreme.

So most either seek the basic desires or avoid the basic fears and pains. But as intelligent people have found, sometimes basic desires must temporarily suffer a lack, or we must endure some fears and pain at times, to grow and progress. It is impossible to have everything just the way we want it, at any and all times. This is an unrealistic expectation of life. Yet, I do believe quite a few do seem to have this expectation and continually find life frustrating when things do not go their way. They can be out of control tyrants when they do not get their way.

But in seeking pleasure or avoiding pain, many learn to avoid questioning authorities and trusted ones, for most authorities do not like to be questioned. Want good grades? Then don't challenge or contradict the teacher! Want a job or a raise? Don't criticize the boss or his decisions or policies! Want to remain in good standing in your church or synagogue? Don't question the leaders! Are you getting the picture? We run into trouble very quickly when we have a mind of our own and do not automatically accept everything dictated to us.

1) So for some, it is laziness that causes them not to think. They like what they got and would rather not lose it by rocking the boat. Besides, thinking takes effort and they have other things they would rather concern themselves with so they do not bother with any serious deep thinking or discussions. They readily accept stupid simple easy answers, that usually don't work, but sound good on the surface without thought.

2) Some walk around terrified of offending someone, having no confidence or sense of self. They will go along with whatever the "others" around them wants. Its safe and easy.

3) Some want to get ahead and know how to please the important people in their world. They do and believe what they are told so that they can rise and share in the wealth and prominence of those above them. They are sellouts and care not for morals as much as rewards and success, usually at nearly any or all cost.

The Good Example:  What all of these types lack are self-respect, a motivation for morals and principles, a desire to defend what they believe, and an independent sense of right and wrong, as well as the desire to exercise their abilities in the way they see fit, so that they can be modestly pleased with what they do and accomplish. They have that strong sense of not wanting to do things in vain and wasting their time and effort. Doing something for nothing drives them insane. They want meaning and purpose in what they do. They demand satisfaction out of life and out of their own actions and pursuit of goals. They seek meaning in life. They seek a greater destiny and purpose. They want to do things that will last, and contribute.

Quite a contrast from the 3 loser types above, wouldn't you say?

4) Now there is that 4th category. Some show some goodness, but it is easily dissuaded or discouraged, or they are easily distracted. There is no strong follow-thru or determination. Show a little resistance toward them and they will back off. These are the fence straddlers. They would like to be good, if only it did not cost quite so much effort and fight.

So we got the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, right? 1 Good and 4 Useless types.

Discussing Ignorance

I came across this on the Personalliberty.com site. Brandon Smith is a great writer and he raised some things I wanted to discuss. I'll be in >>red/brown brackets<<.

http://personalliberty.com/u-s-government-fails-stop-yet-another-invasion/
U.S. government fails to stop yet another invasion        Brandon Smith

"It’s sad to say with such finality, but a universal fact of existence is that most of the people you meet in this life are fundamentally and functionally ignorant — not necessarily stupid, but certainly ignorant."

"Ignorance comes not from a lack of intelligence, but from a denial of knowledge and truth. That is to say, ignorance takes hold when people decide to act as though they know and understand a thing, even if they do not. Ignorance prevails when a society or nation chooses to value the appearance of expertise and the theater of overconfidence and to cheer for the bluster of morons rather than admit that they have unanswered question on subjects they do not yet grasp. Nothing is worse for the self-absorbed than to acknowledge that they do not know."

"Entire nations have fallen throughout history because of this terrible weakness."

>>Brandon sees a difference between stupid and ignorant. I Don't. But that is not important. He and I agree that most people completely ignorant. Void of most intelligence, says I. He next said that it is not due to lack of intelligence, but from a denial, a denial of truth and knowledge. A denial! Burying ones head in the sand. One crying out, "I do not want to know!" Is it possible? I think so. It is fear of knowing that keeps them ignorant AND stupid. His other pet peeve is that many act as if thye know something when they do not. They heard someone say it and they repeat it, not knowing if it is valid and capable of being proved or not.

The next part is what really gets interesting in Brandon's paragraph. He notes how a society, ever the dummies says I, values the appearance of experts who in reality are lying about what they speak of to fool us (Brandon calls it overconfidence), and cheer what in reality are not experts buy morons and idiots who pretend that they know what they speak of when deep down inside, they know perfectly well they are lying like hell. The dummies do not want to admit that they do not really grasp what was said or implied and still have many unanswered questions. But when asked, no one is about to admit they do not know or understand.

Brandon notes the many fallen empire (nations) that suffered from having nothing left in their nations but morons and idiots. I'll let Brandon finish before I have my say. My main point in showing what Brandon says is to show you that it is not only I, of an obviously unorthodox Christian persuasion that says what I do, but Brandon, who appears to say things from a political perspective, also says much the same.<<

"By extension, such ignorance is not just an inherent disease but also an easily exploitable disease. When we refuse to think critically and examine our surroundings thoroughly, we become like grazing gazelles oblivious to the predators encircling us in the tall grass. And just as there are predatory individuals who hide among us, there are also predatory oligarchs who camouflage themselves as benevolent politicos and financial professionals standing above us. Normal predators we fear; establishment predators we invite into our homes as protectors, saviors and partners."

<<< End of quotes and I revert to black text.

Truth1 >>> Ignorance is inherited and is a disease and is easily exploitable. Predators love the ignorant and stupid. But Brandon notes that many predators are in our governments and in the highest positions of wealthy powerful international corporations and non-profit foundations. These are not seen as predators as far as the prey, the dumb, are concerned. The dumb trust these who run their worlds and nations. They do not dare otherwise.

To put it blunt and sweet, they are too dumb to get out of their own way or avoid the very nasty fate awaiting them for trusting the evil predators ruling the world, that is ultimately run by the devil from the spirit realm. So really, what leads to ignorance and stupidity is not being willing to develop our minds with thinking power and ability to dissect, analyze, weigh, question, ponder, investigate, judge, and pass sentence and carry out the sentence. Brandon summed it up much more simply, to his credit, as critical thinking.

If we do not think, ultimately we become the allies, some without intending to, of the bullies and SOB's of the world. Dummies cause the destruction of empires and soon, the destruction of the entire world, save for God's preservation of His own. Becoming an ally of the devil and destroying the world? Those are pretty bad, aren't they? Would that not constitute a sin? A really bad sin, at that! One rejects God gift of the mind, but not using it to its full potential, for starters. But in the end, dumb people are no good to anyone living. They are dead weight that ultimately sink the ship of life. It is a fact. Anyone who does not accept the duty and responsibility for becoming mature adults with a fully developed sense of independent sharp thinking has to be eliminated, as far as God is concerned.

Many do not understand that the Bible is often short and sweet, sometimes leaving it for us to dig deeper on our own to draw out more meaning from the scriptures. The Bible gives us what we need to discern all good sound reasoning and truth. We only have to make use of it and use of our minds to their fullest.

Part of God's contest with the devil is seeing who will rise to the challenge and reach our full potential or not. The devil wants to ruin it for as many as possible. God will only rescue those who make enough use of their brains to justify God's intervention and rescue. God wants us to use our brains. Its not an option, it is mandatory. Next I am going to gather some scriptures that will highlight what has been written so far.

Conflicting Brain Functions

Now I did bring up how we were intended by God to wean ourselves off the "breasts" of our parents and stand on sharp minds of our own in time. Good functioning intellectual brains strive for consistency and for law, God's law, specifically. They care not whether a law breaker is a stranger of a family member. They punish all at the same measure as God tells them to. They stand for righteousness and justice. They delight in developing ever deeper wisdom and understanding. they do not care if someone disagrees with them. They are sure of their own thinking and judgment and stand by it and are not swayed by rank, power, privilege, status, authority, and the like.

On the other hand, the intellectually weak, who have little to no ability, these seek another way to advance in life. They resort to more base functions of the human brain. These base instinctive parts of the mind, sometimes called the reptilian or animal mind, seek comfort, but not principles or morals. Since they can not or will not apply themselves to learning and justly earning status or recognition, they resort to a form of bribery we might call false flattery. This is often spoken of in less flattering terms such as ass-kissers, suck-ups, brown-nosers, sycophants (I prefer psycho-phants or sicko-phants) or other demeaning terms that aptly apply.

These types will flatter those with power and give them praise that they are not worthy of. But often, those in power are insecure, lack a considerable amount of skill and ability and make up for it with brutality and fear. The "pets" and lapdogs circle round the bullies and tell them how great they are. The insecure bullies just love it. Sometimes they might despise some of the sychophants, but ultimately they need those ass-kissers or most of them so they pat them on the head throw them a bone, or give them a slight promotion.

The problem here is that neither the suck-up nor the bully deserve praise or success but they have it because so many are of this type that they have little resistance. The intelligent moral ones are few and far between. Now some might not like the bullies or the pets, but they dare not oppose these in power. Some do not even know what is going on. Others participate reluctantly, and some pursue the gains and advantages of moving up in the ranks and in wealth, and status and power, ill-gotten or not, with zeal and avarice.

So we can see the contrast in what parts of the brain are used or not, in each group. If one seeks truth and healthy success with merit, he will need to use his good mind in his employ and his allies will need to be and do the same. Those who only want gain without having merit, principles, integrity, or morals, and certainly not brains, will resort to the worst in tactics and strategy. They run on their primitive instincts of want, appetite, desire, lusts. So they embark upon many evils in order to secure their place over and above those far more deserving of such.

What makes it all possible for the evil ones is that most of the people have little to nothing to offer but their laziness of mind and spirit. For whatever the reason, most will not oppose evil in power. And evil in power loves these stupid useless types who will do anything for anyone as long as they can go along for a relatively free ride. In reality, its never a free ride. they always lose in the end. As Brandon Smith pointed out, many nations/empires have fallen when there is nothing left but useless losers. All goodness and decency has long since been driven out of their numbers so that the evil left can no longer hold off an attacker.

What should be quite clear by now is that those who will not apply themselves to develop superior minds and thinking, are the ones who enable evil to ascend and dominate. God's plan is that His kingdom will have nothing but those whose minds have been amply developed to ward off any infiltration of the slightest signs of evil. Let me show you how this works.

The Bible says that there is to be a resurrection both righteous and some unrighteous as well. In earlier previous times, some did not have the benefit of hearing God's words and obeying them. These will get that chance, just once, to take advantage of God's great mercy. But according to Revelation chap. 20, at the end of 1000 years, the devil is allowed to tempt and test these who received a chance to get to know and obey God. The result is that most turn against God and against those who stay loyal to God. The evil completely surround the small loyal group, but fire comes down out of heaven and consumes all the evil ones.

Now for 1000 years, they just mindlessly go along with the crowd, who obeys God. It appears that everyone is obeying but many are just going thru the motions and are not take the time to apply themselves to God's teachings and principles. When evil returns with the devil, these who were just going thru the motions will become obvious as they rebel. Despite the good chance and opportunity, they still blow it in the end.

The lazy, no matter how many chances you give them, will never get beyond their laziness. They do not want to try. They do not want to bother. They do not care. It does not matter to them. They can not see why it should matter to them. They can not see the big picture or the long term view.

So ignorance and stupidity are really nothing more than laziness and not caring and not giving a damn about anyone or anything except their primitive instinctive desires of food, sex, comfort, leisure; and no effort or struggle whatsoever. They just want to coast along and not take control of their minds and lives.

We can look at this another way. Higher brain functions seek reasons and principles on which to govern behavior. On the other hand, without the principles and sound reason, we, be default, resort to the lower functions of seeking reward thru the quickest easiest means possible, or avoiding pain or discomfort by any means necessary. An intellect based on sound reason and principle, will not allow itself to sell out principles and morals in order to gain reward or avoid penalties. God wants people to take a stand for righteousness.

For this reason, "see-outs" can never be a part of God's kingdom. They are NOT worthy of life and living. God knows that for human society to function right, without God having to change their diapers all the time, that society must apply itself and expend effort in order to prevent the race from decaying into chaos and destruction. In short, humans were made to seek their greatest highest potential. Just getting by will never do.

So I hope I have proved that dumb stupid lazy ignorant people are not worthy of living. They are worthless dirt bags and pond scum. I know they do not see the big picture so they do not understand why they are not acceptable to God. But not only do they not see, but you can not tell them, either. They do not want to see or understand. They want to remain blind, ignorant, and in the dark. They can not be helped.

Lessons From the Bible

All the following are from the Revised Standard Version (RSV)

Matthew 10:
37 he who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he who loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me;
38 and he who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
39 he who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for my sake will find it.
40 "he who receives you receives me, and he who receives me receives him who sent me.
41 he who receives a prophet because he is a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward, and he who receives a righteous man because he is a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.
42 and whoever gives to one of these little ones even a cup of cold water because he is a disciple, truly, I say to you, he shall not lose his reward."

A person who loves his family more than Jesus is not worthy of Jesus. That is, if he puts his family ahead of Jesus and prefers them to Jesus, then he has no chance of salvation, for Jesus knew full well that many families would insist that a family member starting to follow Jesus might be rejected by his or her family. It happens all the time. In fact, choosing Jesus might cause one to reject a wayward Christian denomination long in existence, which the family clings to.

Jesus also made it clear that we will carry a cross, a burden, if we follow him. So we must be willing go suffer and be rejected, even as Jesus was. Most can not handle rejection of their family, church, community, or whatever. In fact, anyone losing their life for Jesus actually ends up getting it back and much more in the way of good things. So we have to have the patience and long term thinking and outlook toward this life, expecting very little good from it and likely a considerable amount of bad things from it. Most will reject this outlook.

Most want to belong and be accepted, liked, maybe even be popular. You won't get any of those things following Jesus. Just the opposite in fact.

Matthew 5:
19 whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20 for I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

Many religious leaders today teach many errors and many follow them. But if our righteousness does not amount to more than these phonies and hypocrites, then we can not expect to be in God's Kingdom. So we will like end up considered as religious rebels by these false teachers and their mindless followers. You have been warned by Jesus of this.

Matthew 5:
10 "blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 "blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.
12 rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so men persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Most mindless ones today blindly follow church leaders and will reject anyone the leaders say to reject. But anyone who loved their church or religion, more than God and His son and those who truly follow Christ, will not be accepted by Christ. Most just want to be accepted and have a place to belong. We would all like that. But Jesus makes it clear that we will not have that if we follow him. If you want him and everlasting life, you must forget about acceptance and belonging. It is just that simple and straight.

Matthew 5:
43 "you have heard that it was said, ‘you shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’
44 but I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
45 so that you may be sons of your father who is in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
46 for if you love those who love you, what reward have you? do not even the tax collectors do the same?
47 and if you salute only your brethren, what more are you doing than others? do not even the Gentiles do the same?
48 you, therefore, must be perfect, as your heavenly father is perfect.

I have often seen religious people look down on those who are not of their denomination or not Christian at all. But real Christians extend their love and mercy to all, as God does. They develop a frame of mind that holds out compassion and mercy to the lost, not look down on them behind their back and even make fun of them. It is known as being self-righteous and Jesus frowns upon it. Its also known as a superiority complex, where a religious group imagines themselves so superior to the masses, when in reality, they may be worse than those they look down upon. I have seen it for myself many times.

Matthew 7:
1 "judge not, that you be not judged.
2 for with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get.
3 why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?
4 or how can you say to your brother, ‘let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye?
5 you hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.

I never cease to be amazed at religious people who do not look at themselves before judging others. They shall be judged by their own harsh standards, which they shall never be able to stand up to. They give little to no thought about their actions or behavior. They likely inherited their religion, their political party, their national and world views and all other things, which their parents introduced to them after their birth. But if you give no thought to your heritage and personal philosophy, then you will almost certainly not find a place with Jesus.

Matthew 7:
12 so whatever you wish that men would do to you, do so to them; for this is the law and the prophets.

The above is a principle, derived from good sound reasoning, with a balance made between what you want and what the other guy wants. You treat him in the same way that you would want to be treated in that instance. This is why God required Israel to be kind and just to slaves, aliens (foreigners), and temporary residents. Each human being is to be treated with dignity and respect. And after all, since Israel was to be the beacon, the guiding light to the nations to bring all the nations to God in a time of God's choosing; Israel had to treat those foreigners with fairness and compassion, treating them tenderly like a flock, rather than feeding on them like ravenous wolves.

However, Israel rejected her role as the salvation of the nations and rejected Jehovah their God, and left their land and pursued business and commerce rather than the modest life that living in Israel, the land chosen by God for them to live in and maintain the temple, priesthood, and God's word, the scrolls that would make up the Bible, the collective works of God.

As Jesus pointed out, the whole unpinning and foundation of the law was summed up in doing onto others as you would have them do to you. We are all on equal footing in the eyes of God. Whether leading others to salvation or being saved ourselves, once saved, we are all equal under God. There is no superiority in God's eyes. Superiority is what the devil teaches and those who follow the devil also teach the "superiority doctrine."

Most religious denominations se themselves as superior to many or even all others, religious or otherwise. Even within a single church or denomination, you will find some who se themselves as better or higher ranking than others and more deserving. But this is a lie, too.

Matthew 7:
13 "enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is easy, that leads to destruction,
and those who enter by it are many.
14 for the gate is narrow and the way is hard, that leads to life, and those who find it are few.
15 "beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
16 you will know them by their fruits. are grapes gathered from thorns, or figs from thistles?
17 so, every sound tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears evil fruit.
18 A sound tree cannot bear evil fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.
19 every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
20 thus you will know them by their fruits.

By the way, Mathew chapters 5-7 comprise the "sermon on the mount." Here, Jesus makes the point that not many will take the narrow difficult lonely road that few are traveling on, that leads to life eternal. Most of the world follows the devil without even knowing it. They just obey those they fear. So those who do not follow the devil will be hated by him and his followers, whether they know they are following him or not.

Jesus warns of false prophets. They claim to be Christian and likely even the holiest of holies and directly talk to God. But by their fruits, their actions, you will see what they really are, which is selfish wolves devouring the flock and looking out for themselves rather than the flock. I saw this with Jehovah's so called Witnesses (JWs). elders looked after their status and rank and getting attention and glory and ignoring if not even abusing the flock or even ignoring them altogether. The poor and lowly in status were ignored or despised. They had nothing to offer the prominent leadership. Now some congregations of JWs were worse than others, but in nearly all congregations, elders' families received "diplomatic immunity" and were fairly free from prosecution or discipline.

All churches tend to suffer from this because they fear men and not God and His righteous judgment. They do not carefully and honestly look at themselves objectively, but take for granted that they are just wonderful and have no faults at all.

But Jesus warns of bad fruits and tells us to look out for wolves and bad fruits and this leads to taking that lonely isolated path on the narrow difficult road, where the righteous ones travel, following the lamb no matter where he goes. Those who love receiving and giving false flattery and phony praise are the scum who fill many churches and drive people away from God. You must stay away from these evil vermin. Yes, you will be relatively alone, but you will receive a prophets' reward one day for it.

Said another way, don't look for a bowl of cherries or a parade and medal for following God in this world/day/age because the devil is in power until the antichrist dies and Babylon the Great gets her due and God and Magog are destroyed. Then you might hear some cheering or praise.

Matthew 7:
17 so, every sound tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears evil fruit.
18 A sound tree cannot bear evil fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.
19 every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
20 thus you will know them by their fruits.
21 "not every one who says to me, ‘lord, lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my father who is in heaven.
22 on that day many will say to me, ‘lord, lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’
23 and then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you evildoers.’

Many who have done works, supposedly for Jesus, were actually looking out for themselves. Jesus knows this. Their works were vain and worthless. They were phony, thru and thru. Most churches and denominations believe they are doing fine, being suck-ups, ass-kissers, phonies, false-flatterers, blind followers not using or exercising God's wonderful gifts that are in the function of our brains. These Jesus will reject and judge. Their fruits were wicked and rotten and they shall die for these.

Matthew 7:
31 "when the son of man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne.
32 before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate them one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats,
33 and he will place the sheep at his right hand, but the goats at the left.
34 then the king will say to those at his right hand, ‘come, O blessed of my father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world;
35 for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me,
36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’
37 then the righteous will answer him, ‘lord, when did we see thee hungry and feed thee, or thirsty and give thee drink?
38 and when did we see thee a stranger and welcome thee, or naked and clothe thee?
39 and when did we see thee sick or in prison and visit thee?’
40 and the king will answer them, ‘truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.’

Judgment day is going to be quite a surprise for many. For those who attended to Jesus' followers, believing them to be Jesus' followers, will be rewarded for doing good to Jesus' brothers. It will take courage to be identified as one who follows Jesus and attends to his followers. Most in mainstream Christianity will follow the antichrist, the false messiah, the supposed return of "Jesus." So they will reject Jesus' real follows and reject the real Jesus as well.

Matthew 7:
41 then he will say to those at his left hand, ‘depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels;
42 for I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink,
43 I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’
44 then they also will answer, ‘lord, when did we see thee hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to thee?’
45 then he will answer them, ‘truly, I say to you, as you did it not to one of the least of these, you did it not to me.’
46 and they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."

For the above, these are those who reject the followers of Jesus because they follow the devil and their own selfish hearts rather than Jesus. They will not be necessarily what many would call bad. They may not be crazy about what the world does but they dare not stand up to it or oppose or denounce it, and they stay clear of real Christians. They even think they are Christians but they are only kidding themselves. Jesus will reject them because they rejected his true followers, his "brothers" in the faith.

I could go on and on with Jesus' teachings similar to these. Not to mention the Apostles and Prophets, too. But what is quite obvious is that the biggest problem in the world to day is that many who think they are following Jesus are really and truly following their own selfish longings or avoiding fear, pain, or rejection of the world. they are gutless and spineless and Jesus has no use for them. They are not willing to stand up and oppose evil at least in words and ideas. They sellout to the devil.

I see Jehovah's Witnesses (only in name, not in deeds) as an interesting example, for they tend to follow a more rigorous form of religious practice than most other denominations. All good JWs are supposed to preach door to door at least once a week, not missing very many weeks. They read and discuss the Bible far more than most denominations and few outside the JWs do this. But despite all that, JWs' hearts are far removed from God and the Bible. Why? Because they follow men and do not use their own heads and make their own examinations of the Bible and hold others to it.

It is a wicked thing to surrender your mind to another or to simply ignore using your mind and developing it in God's direction.

The Danger of Herding             Jan 21 015
Back to Top

Here is something God left out of the Bible, for us to find on our own and understand. When God made man, He made him to be an individual as well as a cooperative soul among his peers. We have built in protections in our makeup and brains, to protect us as individuals, such as a conscience, an instinct to protect us when young or faced with great danger requiring superhuman powers or more than the unusual response.

But God also designed us to avoid being herded like cattle or sheep, having a backbone and will of our own. God gave us a spirit of independence as well as interdependence. We do not like having others telling us what to do unless there are good reasons for what they tell us to do. Our God-given conscience should make us detest evil and detest complete disregard for our fellow man.

But what enable us to be an individual is our natural desire to be our own man, so to speak, with a mind of our own. But if we had not been in the habit of learning to be our own man and develop our own intellect and ability to judge, weigh, evaluate, analyze, plan, and carry out, then we would not be able to resist poor logic or deceit. We might fall for it, being as dumb as the day we were born.

Parents do not teach critical thinking. They fear it might be used on them, which certainly is a possibility and when old enough, adult children should be able to criticize parents, even as parents need to, when called for, criticize growing developing children. Indeed, parents get criticized by other adults, like religious leader, bosses, psychologists, police, judges, etc. Fair constructive criticism is essential for healthy living and developing and maturing.

But criticism should begin from within each of us. At some point very early in our adulthood, if not late teen years, we should begin to evaluate ourselves and take a critical honest look at ourselves. When we get physically dirty, we take a bath. We are sort of born psychologically/spiritually dirty and by the time we are teens, we are covered in mental dirt. We need a good cleaning and renovation. That is the process of maturity, if we attempt it.

And we, at some point, if we have established some principles and beliefs, we should begin to defend those or improve on them if they need it. We begin to exercise our intellect and its results to that point, our ideas. If we have not given something much thought, that would become obvious once we tried to open our mouths to defend that errant thought.

If we have not achieved personal development, growth, and maturity, then we will be no good to ourselves, or our kids, or anyone else for that matter. It has been correctly said that a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. Its a fact! Now if most of your links are all weak, your chain is totally useless and you know it.

As a family, as a community, as a city, a state, or a nation, or even a race, it takes very few idiots to ruin any of those groups. The idiots become like a big ball and chain around both our ankles. They become like quicksand and mire. They are the sink hole that opens in the road and swallows cars. One does not need enemies to attack when one has idiots on the loose.

Famous Communist Vladimir Lenin called them useful idiots. He knew they truly were idiots, but useful to those who wanted to subvert and overthrow the regime in power above them. Idiots will go along with anything and Lenin knew that. Idiots have nothing legitimate to offer, like brains or merit. So they offer they cooperation in corruption and abuse. And though those fomenting an overthrow despise idiots, they are not opposed to using them and rewarding them, even though they look down on them. They leading see idiots as a necessary evil to promote the desired overthrow and take-over. So they throw the idiots some small rewards and get into power.

Stupidity enables criminals and bullies to take over and overthrow those in power who are often far more worthy than the rebels. We have covered this earlier, right?

But wisdom, when all in a group have it, can not be fooled or compromised. They stand firm against lies and dirt. Since none will consider betrayal, the rebels can make no progress since they are so small a number. These normally depend on lots of idiots to convert. Idiots do not prosper among the wise, either because of laziness or corruption. So to get around having no merit to deserve anything thru honest work and diligence, they go over to the corrupt side to overthrow those better than they are.

When wisdom abounds among a people, there is no place for idiots. No one wants to be without merit or be an idiot. The wise love exercising their abilities and competence. It feels good to set a goal and achieve it. Life is a joy when one has wisdom. Idiots do not know such joy. They get no thrill so they see no reason to aspire to wisdom. Idiots just clog up the machinery and ruin things.

A wise mature developed population protects itself and continually advances itself.
A population of fools bring a nation to a collapse and ruin that someone else can conquer, enslave, and bully.

So the ultimate way to prevent the very serious problem of a population being herded like cattle to work against their own best interests, is for each individual to work to achieve his highest potential in intellect and self-control so that he can resist lies, deceit, and treachery, knowing those always end up in disaster, sooner or later. Being smart wards off the idiots.

What this should also make clear is that it in in all our interests that every last citizen becomes as smart as possible. Many in our world fear others knowing as much as they do. But solid knowledge makes it clear that keeping people ignorant is a sure path to destruction. Making everyone smart is the best way for them to see what is in their best long term interests. Smart people would never slice their own throats by hiding knowledge, or banning use of it thru copyrights and patents. Instead, they promote knowledge everywhere. Wisdom encourages sharing and cooperation, rather than competition and mutual destruction.

This is part of that old sons of light vs sons of darkness struggle. Sons of light love to share wisdom. Sons of darkness hide wisdom and promote darkness and ignorance.

I have to say, our society, based on competition and aggression, reveals just how wicked and corrupt our society is. We patent everything and copyright everything so that no one can do anything. It like wearing leg irons and a straight jacket and being gagged. we hate the free flow of information. We want to stop it all and keep people dumb as rocks.

But keeping people dumb keeps them from enjoy life and sharing that with others. It is a hideous cruelty that wants to rob people of joy and not treat all the same with kindness and caring. There really are only 2 paths for any human to choose. Goodness and decency, or indifference, contempt, and hatred. Some want everyone to be happy so they can be happy and some are so f---ing stupid that they prefer most being miserable so they can abuse the majority for their own selfish benefit.

Its not hard to tell who is bad and who is good. God will soon get around to settling this court case once and for all time and it is very near at hand now. He will have no problem sorting one from the other because they are so completely different from each other. Like day and night.

After thought: Consider my friends, that when someone has cancer, what percentage of cancer cells are needed before death will result? Safe to say that the body could not handle 50% cancer which would shut down numerous organs, I suspect. Just one organ badly affected can cause death. While I do not have any exact figures and they may not exist since quantifying such percentages is not easy to establish death, I think I can safely say that the equivalent of 25% cancer cells would be enough to doom anyone. 25% would mean at least one area saturated which might be enough to kill. That it has spread to amount to 25% of the body cells is sure to mean death.

If concentrated in a specific area, perhaps only 10% would be needed.

Maybe we could use the Titanic for an example. How bad was their water leakage? Enough to sink it in 2 hours. How much overall volume was the leak. About the size of a vehicle, I think I once heard. That would like be 1 or 2% of the square footage below the water line.

My point in bringing these up and I welcome any more secure facts to add here, is that a population can not sustain even a minority population of stupid or indifferent people. How much is a minority? Well, It can start as say, 5 or 10 %. Lets say 10% or 1 out of 10. If the bad and good are nearly even at 45% each, then the 10% stupid only has to move one way of the other and sway the whole "battle" one way or the other.

Heaven forbid if if might be 30 or 35%, with the other 2 split 35/35 or near to that. It would be a very lopsided victory. If the dumb were 50% or better, there would be no hope for anyone. Now you might down and have a good stiff drink or two or ten maybe. What if the idiots were near to 70% or even more?

Remember that a body might only tolerate 10% of its cells being cancerous before dying. The Titanic's leak was marginal in some ways, but with several hours of time, it ended up on the bottom of the sea and 1500 humans lives were lost.

Can the world population sustain itself with 50% or more being idiots? There is no way. It is insurmountable. Like the Titanic, the effect was not immediate but it was very certain. Engineer Andrews gave Capt. Smith a 2 hour estimate. No ship was near enough to get there in time to save anyone not in a life boat.

Earth's population has lasted past 6000 years and now seems to be nearing its end. The stupidity has reach critical levels from which there is not recovery possible any longer. We have taken on too much water and no ships anywhere near to bail us out. The bow is already beneath the water's surface.

Our race/species is so ridden with intellectual cancer that no recovery can be made. We are destined to die, except for the grace of God extended to any who will accept God's terms of obedience and efforts to learn, develop, and grow in intellectual ability.

We are way beyond recovery. The world has been conquered by the devil, Satan. The human race has been trashed for the most part. Now only a small percentage is going to accept God's terms and live or be brought back to life after the trial of judgment of the world.

Only God can put the human species back on the right track so that all humans develop their intellectual potential, in order to insure that the species remains insulated from corruption and taken over by a few wicked who herd the rest of mankind into brutality and slavery.

Anyone wanting to serve God must learn to think and use their head, apart from the influence or anyone else. They must be independent balanced with inter-dependence and always be self-sufficient. Its that simple!

The Conclusion

Revelation 22:
10 and he said to me, "do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near.
11 let the evildoer still do evil, and the filthy still be filthy, and the righteous still do right, and the holy still be holy."
12 "behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense, to repay every one for what he has done.
13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end."
14 blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates.
15 outside are the dogs and sorcerers and fornicators and murderers and idolaters, and every one who loves and practices falsehood.

God hates phonies, liars, pretenders, and the like. Any sort of falseness is repulsive to Him. And those who dish out false flattery and insincere gifts, are among those who bring down the world with their desire to get recognition and social advancement, not by developed skill and intellectual merit, but by falsely being friends with the "right" people in the right places. You don't have to be a rapist or a murderer. Just an ass-kisser. That's all it takes to ruin the world.

One will kiss some ass only if one has no brains or skill. The false flattery makes it quite clear there is no brain or skill; or morals and integrity, either.

So you see, stupid people really are sinful people who do God on good no do God's followers any good, either. Fence-straddlers are the plague of the world.  A chain is only as strong as its weakest link, and if the majority of people are stupid, a weak link, then humanity has no hope outside of God.

The opposite of false-flattery, phoniness, pretentiousness, which really are all lies and deceit of one type or another, will bring the wrath of God. You do not have to be a monster dictator or mass murderer, you just have to be phony or insincere. That is all it truly takes. Most religion is plagued by these types.

Luke 13:
1 there were some present at that very time who told him of the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
2 and he answered them, "do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered thus?
3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.
4 or those eighteen upon whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse offenders than all the others who dwelt in Jerusalem?
5 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish."

Jesus did point out above that some who had been executed or had died by accident or possibly providence, deserving their death, Jesus warned them all in attendance that they were all in trouble with God for none were doing what they should be. If they did not change, they would perish. We can say that today as well. There are executions that take place in our nation by law, so called. But really, many of us have nothing on them. We all need to give more attention to ourselves and consider if it might be possible that we owe God far more than we are giving at present. Jesus followed with a parable below.

Luke 13:
6 and he told this parable: "A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came seeking fruit on it and found none.
7 and he said to the vinedresser, ‘lo, these three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and I find none. cut it down; why should it use up the ground?’
8 and he answered him, ‘let it alone, sir, this year also, till I dig about it and put on manure.
9 and if it bears fruit next year, well and good; but if not, you can cut it down.’"

Jesus was issuing a warning in this parable, that he was not finding the fruit that he expected of Israel/Judah and that they had just 1 more year, figuratively speaking and then they would get cut down if they were not bearing fruit. Now, he was not referring to a real year or specific period of time. But he was warning of an impending judgment we all face and if we do not repent, change, and produce some good fruit (results), then we would be done away with. Judged by God as unworthy of life. Being stupid is a serious crime.

You do not need to continue to be stupid or ignorant. Many think, "Oh, I could never be smart." But its not true. We all learned how to speak a language without lessons. We all learned to walk and use the toilet, too. And if we try, we can learn to think and be smart. It only takes effort and time. Anyone can do it. There should be joy and pleasure in learning new skills and knowledge. Becoming competent and even effective in something will feel rewarding. We will  not need to kiss someone's ass in order to succeed or get recognition. We can do it on our own merits. That does not mean we are going to be popular. .But we will have personal sefl-satisfaction that we have done a good job and God will one day reward us, when the time for judgment arrives.

The Solution-Cure

Read the Bible for yourself and develop your own understanding and sense of things. It might be slow at first but you will pick up speed in time and become razor sharp in your discernment and wisdom. Think for yourself and be constantly examining yourself against the standards of the Bible to see if you measure up or not. It really is just that simple. And learn to accept a certain amount of alienation and rejection for in these very last days, the devil is drawing most of the world into his fold and so you will be outnumbered like never before in history.

But our rescue is coming soon as well. There will be some scary events in the next year or so and then 7 years under the false messiah, and then we will see salvation. My estimate is that we have maybe just 9 years at most, left. For many, they might meet death within the next couple of years. One never knows. So this is a good time to get moving and make some serious changes fast. Your life hangs in the balance. You need to take a strong stand for God and His principles and laws. Lazy brains will not be allowed to live much longer.
